Glenview Trustees Approve New Water Meters
$7.3 million project will replace 16,000 old ones.

Wireless, automated water meters will soon replace the old ones in Glenview at a cost of $7.3 million.
The project to replace 16,000 of them is expected to begin in mid-June or July and be completed by September 2016, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Assistant Village Manager Sarah Kuechler said during the March 17 trustees meeting in which the measure was passed that more than 8,300 current meters are approaching or beyond their recommended 20-year life. They are also down to a 93 percent accuracy level.
