Glenview Woman Claims Golf Ball Hit Her While Driving; Park District Investigates

Driving a car, that is. Maya Spitz says the bit struck her through her vehicle's open window as she passed Glenview Prairie Club.

Glenview, IL—A Glenview woman claims an errant golf ball from Glenview Prairie Club hit in the neck while she was driving on Shermer Road, according to a Glenview Announcements report.

The Glenview Park District is investigating the claim from Maya Spitz, who says she was driving near the golf course, 2800 W. Lake Ave., the late afternoon of June 3 when the ball struck her through her open vehicle window, the report stated.

Spitz, 65, went to the hospital immediately after the incident, and while X-rays showed no fractures, she did have a red mark on her collar bone, according to the report. That mark has since turned into "a large greenish-brown bruise stretching from her lower neck to her upper chest on the left side of her body," according to Spitz, the report added.
