Grief and Asperger's

Grief and loss are difficult challenges for all children. However, for children with Asperger's and autism spectrum disorders, loss can be more difficult to address. Children and adolescents with AS may have difficulty expressing their emotions, making it harder for them to grieve. Recognizing when your child is withdrawing or becoming aggressive as a result of loss will help you to provide the support they need in expressing and dealing with their emotions.
