Honesty in Grieving

Children affected by loss need to know that their family is there to help them during this difficult time. While parents and caregivers cannot take the pain of loss away, there are steps that they can take to facilitate coping and healing. For instance, when a child has questions about loss, it is important to be as age-appropriately honest as possible when answering them. This honesty will build trust and help the child feel better supported and more secure while they process their feelings and learn to move on.

If your family or your child has recently experienced a loss, therapy could prove invaluable while on the path to healing. Please feel free to contact us at the Courage to Connect Therapeutic Center to schedule an appointment with Dr. Clatch.
