GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone broke into a a business in the 1400 block of Paddock Drive by damaging an overhead door prior to 7 a.m. Aug. 20 and stole $4,000 worth of tools from work vehicles inside.

CAR BURGLARIES

  • A resident in the 100 block of Washington Street reported on the morning of Aug. 20 that someone got into their unlocked car parked in a driveway and stole $7 from the center console during the previous night.
  • A resident in the 1300 block of London Lane reported around 5:30 p.m. Aug. 20 that someone had gotten into their unlocked car during the prior night and stolen a set of headphones worth $50.s

HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 1800 block of Robincrest Drive reported around 10 a.m. on Aug. 20 that someone got into their garage using a door opened left in an unlocked car and stole alcohol and a tool from inside for a $20 loss.

ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT
A Wildberry Drive resident reported on Aug. 20 that someone had sent them unwanted text messages and phone calls.

THEFT
An employee of a business in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road reported on Aug. 20 that a former employee had stolen a check and unsuccessfully tried to cash it.

TRESPASSING
A resident in the 1800 block of Robincrest Lane reported at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 20 that someone had gotten into an unlocked car and put it in gear. The car rolled down the driveway and was found resting in the street.

CHECK FRAUD

  • An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Lehigh Avenue reported on Aug. 21 that someone had altered a company check by changing to whom it was payable and cashing it for a loss of more than $3,000.
  • An employee of a business in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 1 p.m. Aug. 22 that someone had fraudulently cashed three checks using the store's bank account for a reported loss of $2,200.
  • An employee of a business in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue reported around 8 a.m. Aug. 26 that someone had altered a check and unsuccessfully tried to cash it.

LOCKER THEFTS

  • A customer at a business in the 3800 block of Willow Road reported around 7 a.m. Aug. 26 that someone had cut a lock off their locker and stolen a wallet from inside. Cards from the wallet were later used at a store in the area.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A customer at a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road threatened to "come back and shoot up the place" if his property were lost, an employee reported around 1 p.m. Aug. 26.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

A 52-year-old Glenview man was arrested around 10:45 p.m. Aug. 19 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 900 block of Greenwood Road. He was also issued citations for operating an uninsured vehicle and improper lane usage.

A 30-year-old Chicago man was arrested around 12:45 p.m. Aug. 20 and charged with driving without a valid license following an investigation into a traffic crash in the 900 block of Waukegan Road. He was also ticketed for operating an uninsured vehicle.

A 14-year-old Skokie girl was issued a local ordinance citation for retail theft around 4:45 p.m. Aug. 20 after she was seen shoplifting jewelry and clothing from a store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive.

An 18-year-old Des Plaines woman was issued a local ordinance citation for retail theft around 12:30 p.m. Aug. 21 after she was seen shoplifting clothing from a store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive.

A 16-year-old Wilmette girl was issued a local ordinance citation for retail theft around 6:15 p.m. Aug. 22 after she was seen shoplifting jewelry taken from a display at a store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive.

David Schrauth, 55, of the 1600 block of Hawthorne Lane, Glenview, was arrested at noon on Aug. 23 at the Glenview Police Department and charged with identity theft and unlawful possession of a credit card following an investigation into an Aug. 5 report of fraud in the 1400 block of Burr Oak Drive.

Jorge Aparicio, 37, of the 6400 block of Christiana Avenue, Lincolnwood, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25 on an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear in Will County court following a traffic stop in the 500 block of East Lake Avenue. He was also ticketed for disobeying a traffic control device.

A 67-year-old Barrington woman was issued a local ordinance citation for retail theft around 12:45 p.m. Aug. 26 after she was seen shoplifting clothing an jewelry from a store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive.
