Illinois Shockwave 12U places 2nd in Evanston

Illinois Shockwave 12u lost a 2-1 heart-breaker in the championship game against the Windy City Thunder to take 2nd place at the Evanston Express Memorial Day Classic (May 27-29, 2016). In pool play, the team was 2-1, losing that one game to the Windy City Thunder, whom they would face again in the championship round. In elimination play, the Shockwave defeated Sauganash Storm Black 11-1 to reach the semi-finals. In the semi-final game, they jumped on the Vernon Hills Stingers early to win 12-0 to advance to the championship game. In the championship game, the Shockwave took an early 1-0 lead, but ended up losing on a walk-off single by the Windy City Thunder in the 7th inning, falling by a score of 2-1. The 12U Shockwave showed some of their best defense of the season and it was certainly a performance to be proud of. Congrats 12u Shockwave!
