Illinois Shockwave 14U champions of Evanston tournament

Illinois Shockwave 14U takes first place at the Evanston Express Memorial Day Classic tournament. #LikeAGlenviewGirl

Illinois Shockwave 14U went undefeated in three games of pool play in Evanston and were the first seed going into the playoffs on Sunday. First they played Vernon Hills and won 12-0 in three innings. They went on to the semi-finals to face Sauganash Storm and won 14-2, also in three innings. This advanced them to the championship game pitting them against Windy City Thunder. Shockwave took an early lead but the Windy City Thunder had a big third inning to pull ahead 4-3. In the fifth inning, Shockwave scored 2 more runs, but a sixth inning rally added six more runs to the team's total, which resulted in a big win. The final score was 11-4. Illinois Shockwave 14U are the champions of the Evanston Express Memorial Day Classic two years in a row! It was truly a team effort with everyone's contributions.
