Jesus Brito-Garces, 34, of the 8200 block of White Street, Des Plaines, had a warrant out of Northbrook for a bond forfeiture, and was arrested at 9:38 p.m. Dec. 5, following the investigation of a trespassing complaint in the 9800 block of N. Milwaukee Avenue. He was held for a bond hearing.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 11:57 a.m. Dec. 6, a customer stole merchandise from the display and left the store without paying for it.
  • An employee of a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road called police at 7:06 p.m. Dec. 9, to report a known offender was seen on Nov. 27 they had purchased from the self-checkout register.

THEFT

A Miller Drive resident called police at 11:56 a.m. Dec. 6, to report cash was stolen from a locker at a business in the 3800 block of Willow Road.

FORGERY

  • A Normandy Lane resident reported at 11:44 a.m. Dec. 8, a check mailed from the Glenview U.S. Post Office was intercepted in the mail and cashed in a different amount to a different person.
  • A resident in the 1500 block of Pebble Creek Drive reported at 10:10 a.m. Dec. 10, a check mailed had been intercepted and changed by an unknown suspect.

BURGLARY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A Fish Creek, Wisconsin resident reported that between noon and 3:30 p.m. Dec. 8, someone stole the catalytic converter from under their vehicle while it was parked at a facility in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road.
  • A Weston, Florida resident called police to report that between Dec. 4 and Dec. 8, someone stole the catalytic converter from under their rental vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
  • A Niles resident reported that between Dec. 7 and Dec. 8, someone stole the catalytic converter from under her rental vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
  • A Round Lake resident reported at 6:05 a.m. Dec. 13, someone entered their unlocked vehicle while it was parked at a property in the 2600 block of Sanders Road. A wallet was stolen from the inside of the vehicle.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

An employee of a business in the 1300 block of Waukegan Road reported at 7:25 p.m. Dec. 8, receiving a threat over a telephone call.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Waukegan resident reported losing their wallet at a business in the 2100 block of Willow Road on Dec. 10. When they called their credit card company to cancel their card, they were advised of an unauthorized purchase.

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

A resident was stopped for a traffic violation at 6:36 p.m. Dec. 11, in the 2700 block of West Lake Avenue. The driver admitted to possessing unsealed cannabis in the vehicle. They were cited under village ordinance for unlawful possession of cannabis and released.
