Liquor Control Commission Exposes Underage Sales In Glenview

GLENVIEW, IL — Glenview police and the Illinois Liquor Control Commission tested 15 local businesses Thursday for compliance with state laws regarding underage drinking. Two of the 15 were prior violators being re-tested, according to ILCC.

All four of following establishment(s) failed this compliance check:

• Walgreens, 3301 Glenview Road, Glenview (Already had one prior violation)
• State & Main Kitchen + Bar, 1941 Tower Drive, Glenview
• Grandpa's Place, 1868 Prarie Street, Glenview
• CVS Pharmacy, 3780 Willow Road, Glenview

The following establishment(s) passed the compliance check by refusing to sell liquor to the ILCC underage participant(s):

• H Mart Glenview LLC, 3385 North Milwaukee Avenue, Glenview
• OSCO Drug, 2502 Waukegan Road, Glenview
• Vilin Food & Liquors, 501 Milwaukee Avenue, Glenview
• Mesa Urbana, 3566 Milwaukee Avenue, Glenview
• Patato Creek Johnny's, 1850 Waukegan Road, Glenview
• Glenview Liquors, 1214 Waukegan Road, Glenview
• Glenview House, 1843 Glenview Road, Glenview
• Walgreens, 1403 Waukegan Road, Glenview
• Chestnut Wines & Spirits, 1762 Waukegan Road, Glenview
• Willow Liquors, 2637 Shermer Road, Northbrook
• Glenbrook Liquors, 3554 Milwaukee Avenue, Northbrook

This report is a result of ongoing undercover and cooperative law enforcement operations conducted by agents of the Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC), local law enforcement officials and underage participants recruited from area high schools and colleges. The teams randomly visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no liquor is sold to persons under 21 years old. ILCC agents also work with local and state law enforcement agents to focus on communities with a high incidence of underage liquor sales.
