Man Asks For Free Food, Punches Employee In Face: Glenview PD Blotter

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Terrell D. Lee, of the 500 block of W. 14th Street, Chicago, is accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and was arrested at 10:46 a.m. May 16, following an investigation in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He as released and assigned a court date of May 28.

INCIDENTS

HARASSMENT

An employee of a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 5:32 p.m. May 24, a customer had been harassing one of the store's employees regarding repairs of equipment. The harassment included a threatening voicemail from which was left on the employee's personal cell phone. Officers subsequently made contact with the customer, issued a trespass warning, and advised them not to return to the store or make any further contact with the employee.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY OF A SENIOR

Employees of a business in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue called police at 8:57 a.m. May 20, to report someone had punched them in the face. The altercation began after the person entered the hotel to try and get free food. The person has tried to do this in the past. They fled on foot.

HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

An N. Branch resident called police at 12:04 a.m. May 21, to report an ex-coworker called their phone and swore at them. The resident made a report earlier in the year when they were constantly texting and calling them. The resident was provided with information on how to obtain an order of protection. They will sign complaints if the harassment continues.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • A resident of the 600 block of Carriage Hill Drive called police at 9:40 a.m. May 21, to report a neighbor was knocking on their door and ringing her doorbell. The neighbor was demanding to know why they parked in a certain parking space. They told the neighbor to leave. The resident has made multiple similar reports regarding the neighbor. Officers spoke with the neighbor and told them to stay away. The neighbor said they understood.
  • A resident of the 1700 block of Wildberry Drive called police at 2:49 p.m. May 23, to report they had received multiple text messages containing graphic images of deceased individuals. The text messages also contained demands for money. They were advised that this was a common scam.
  • An Echo Lane resident reported at 11:02 a.m. May 26, being parked in a parking spot in the 1900 block of Tower Drive, when they were approached by an unknown white male, 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, partially bald. The male told them to move their car so they could park there. They refused and he told them he was going to get his gun, then drove away from the scene. Officers were unable to locate his small white vehicle.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident of the 1100 block of Pfingsten Road reported on May 21 that on the previous day, someone claiming to be a “city employee” made entry into the home and stole a box of bank statements and utility bills. The resident first observed the person in the kitchen. The person then began to ask a lot of questions. The person was described as a white male, around 5-foot-7, with a thin build. They were possibly wearing a safety style vest as well.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

  • Employees of a business in the 1800 block of Landwehr Road called police at 5:10 p.m. May 22, to report an ex-employee had been seen inside the building. The ex-employee was terminated from their position on bad terms. When approached, the ex-employee did not say anything and walked away. An Extra Watch was placed on the business.
  • A Chicago resident reported at 5:44 p.m. May 25, that while in a parking lot in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road, an unknown male had a black small semi-automatic handgun from a black bag within the male’s vehicle. The male then placed the firearm in a leather holster and into the right side of his waistband. The male was described as a white male, 6-foot, and lean. Officers were unable to make contact with the driver.
