GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
SHOPLIFTING
- An employee of the Mariano's in the 2300 block of Capitol Drive reported around 2 p.m. Sept. 3 that someone had stolen $1,270 worth of unspecified merchandise after putting it in tote bags.
- An employee of the Von Maur in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported on Sept. 5 that someone who entered the store at 8:35 p.m. the prior night had stolen $40 worth of clothing.
- Someone stole $620 in merchandise from a sporting goods store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive at some point on Sept. 13.
- A shoplifters stole $1,441.33 worth of merchandise from a grocery store in the first block of Waukegan Road between Sept. 9 and Sept. 13, an employee told police.
- Three people stole an estimated $1,000 worth of Nike and Adidas clothing from a sporting goods store in the 1900 block of Tower Drive on Sept. 13.
- Someone stole about $1,100 worth of over-the-counter medications from the CVS in the 3700 block of Willow Road prior to 5:30 p.m. Sept. 22.
CAR BURGLARIES

- Someone stole a wallet worth more than $200 from a car parked in a lot in the 2100 block of Chestnut Avenue around 3 a.m. Sept. 3.
- Between 7:45 p.m. Sept. 4 and 5:45 a.m. Sept. 5, someone stole a wallet from inside an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 1800 block of Robincrest Lane for a loss of $625.
- A resident in the 1700 block of South Robincrest Lane reported on the morning of Sept. 5 that someone had stolen $17 from their unlocked vehicle while it was parked in their driveway during the overnight hours.
- Someone stole a purse from a car parked outside the L.A. Fitness in the 3300 block of Willow Road for a loss of $270.
- A resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported around 8:30 a.m. Sept. 20 that someone had gotten into their unlocked car in a parking lot sometime after 8 p.m. Sept. 19 for a loss of $100.
- Someone burglarized an unlocked car in the 1900 block of Tanglewood Drive between 3:30 p.m. Sept. 21 and 1:15 p.m. Sept. 22 and stole $25 in cash from inside.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
- A resident in the 1200 block of Raleigh Road reported around 11:15 a.m. that someone had broken a section of wooden fence in their backyard between noon on Aug. 30 and noon on Aug. 31 for a loss of $200.
- Someone cut the bolts off a gate in the 1500 block of Topp Lane prior to 5 p.m. Sept. 3 for a loss of $20.
- A resident in the 1700 block of Pickwick Lane reported around 2:30 p.m. Sept. 8 that someone had scratched the paint on their vehicle with a sharp object for a loss of $200.
- Someone damaged a fence belonging to a condominium association in the 2700 block of Langley Circle for a loss of $150.
- A guest of a hotel in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone slashed a tire on their car for a loss of $300.
- A shopper at a grocery store in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road reported encountering their neighbor inside the store. The two have had many previous disputes. Police were told one neighbor swore at the other, left the store, removed magnetic stickers from the other's car and scratch its rear bumper for a reported loss of $220.
- Two handles attached to a storage unit in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue were reported broken around 8 p.m. Sept. 18 for a loss of $140.
THEFTS

- Someone stole a wallet from inside a locked locker at a business in the 3800 block of Willow Road between 7:55 and 8:45 p.m. Sept. 3 for a loss of more than $100.
- Nearly $5,000 in unauthorized purchases were made on credit cards that were in a gym bag stolen while left unattended at the Glenview Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave.
- Someone stole a medium-sized animal trap worth $150 and owned by an animal trapping service at some point prior to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 6.
- A customer at an unspecified business in the 2400 block of Chestnut Avenue reported around 5 p.m. Sept. 6 that someone stole their wallet from a locker. Credit cards from inside were later used at area stores for loss that was not known at the time of the report.
- Someone stole an iPad worth $500 from a construction site in the 2100 block of Hickory Court between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 11.
- Someone stole a $1,000 black bicycle from outside the Walgreens, 1403 Waukegan Road, at some point on Sept. 13.
- A resident in the 3800 block of Harvest Lane reported around 5 p.m. Sept. 16 that they lost their wallet and received a notification from their bank that someone had attempted to make a charge of more than $600 at a ticket agency.
- Someone stole a $300 bicycle that had been left unlocked inside the entrance to thein the 100 block of Waukegan Road.
- Someone stole a wallet worth $230 from inside an unattended backpack at the Glenbrook South High School soccer fields, 4000 West Lake Ave.
- Sometime before 3:30 p.m. Sept. 23, someone stole an unattended bicycle worth $350 that had been left leaning against a flagpole in the 2500 block of Chestnut Avenue.
- A necklace worth $8,000 was stolen from a customer at a photography store in the 1900 block of Lehigh Avenue, police were told around 5 p.m. Sept. 23. It was later recovered, police said.
UNWANTED RECORDING
A resident in the 2600 block of Independence Avenue reported around 4:30 p.m. Sept. 4 that someone was in a backyard recording them with a cellphone.
BATTERIES
- A bicyclist slapped the buttocks of a jogger in the 2600 block of West Lake Avenue before riding away prior to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 4.
- Around 1 a.m. Sept. 16, a guest visiting friends in the 300 block of Bel Air Drive reported they were battered due to their relationship with the homeowner. Shortly after 8 p.m the same day, a Mount Prospect resident came to the station to report getting a threatening phone message from an acquaintance.
- A McDonald's employee in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 11 a.m. Sept. 18 that someone had groped their breasts without permission.
- Around 6:15 p.m. Sept. 18, a shopper reported someone struck him in the mouth in a parking lot in the 3400 block of Milwaukee Avenue following an argument.
TRESPASSING
- An employee of Kraft Foods, 801 Waukegan Road, reported around 2 a.m. Sept. 5 someone was on the businesses' property without permission.
- A passerby reported around 6:15 p.m. Sept. 7 that youth were on top of a building in the 1700 block of Sunset Ridge Road. Police found a pair of 14-year-old boys and returned them to the custody of their parents.
- Staff at the Salvation Army store at 9840 Milwaukee Ave. reported that someone who had been banned from the store had returned. Officers gave the person another warning that they could face trespassing charges.
- An employee of an unspecified business in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive reported around 5 p.m. Sept. 23 that two people were on the property without permission.
IDENTITY THEFTS
- A Greenwood Road resident reported on the afternoon of Sept. 6 that someone had used their credit card to make several unauthorized purchases for a $1,300 loss.
- A Huber Lane resident reported on the afternoon of Sept. 13 that someone had used their identity to withdraw $2,000 from a savings account.
- An Indian Ridge Drive resident reported around 8:30 p.m. Sept. 14 that someone had used their identity in an attempt to open two accounts with a cellphone company.
FRAUDS
- Someone called a currency exchange in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road and fraudulently transferred $10,000 into an internet account, an employee told police shortly before 2 p.m. Sept. 6.
- An employee of Abt Electronics, 1200 Milwaukee Ave., reported around 5 p.m. Sept. 21 that a customer had used someone else's credit card information to purchase a laptop for nearly $3,200.
HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 3900 block of Gregory Drive reported around 2 p.m. Sept. 6 that someone had broken into their home by breaking a patio window. The interior was ransacked. There was a $750 reported loss.
ARMED ROBBERIES
- A motorist in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 6 p.m. Sept. 6 that someone who appeared to have a knife in their waistband had run up to their car while stopped at a red light and demanded a purse, phone and keys. The robber stole $1,750 worth of items. He was described as 47 years old, 6 feet tall and black with a small afro, a vertical scar on his cheek and busy eyebrows.
- At 7 p.m. Sept. 19, a Jewel-Osco employee in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported a shoplifter brandished a folding knife when they were confronted by while trying to leave the store with an unknown amount of stolen items. The robber fled on a bicycle. He was described as 27 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches and Hispanic with a slim build, medium-length dark hair, a tattoo on his forearm.
STRONGARM ROBBERY
A customer in the parking lot of a motel in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 1:15 a.m. Sept. 7 that someone punched him and stole his cellphone. Police said the phone was later found on Dearlove Road.
COUNTERFEIT CASH
Staff at the Walgreens in the 3300 block of Glenview Road reported around 9 a.m. Sept. 8 that someone had come into the store and used five counterfeit $100 bills to reload a debit card.
FORGERY
A resident of the 3600 Block of Lawson Road reported around 1:15 p.m. Sept. 12 that someone had altered a business check to have a different payee and amount for a loss of nearly $4,900.
STOLEN CARS
- Someone used a fraudulent credit card to rent a red Dodge Challenger from the Hertz in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road and failed to return it prior to it being reported stolen Sept. 17.
- Someone stole a 2019 Lexus from an unspecified business in the 300 block of Waukegan Road, police were told on the afternoon of Sept. 20.
SCAM ATTEMPT
An employee of the Jewel-Osco in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported around 1 p.m. Sept. 17 that a customer was trying to withdraw $9,000 from an account for an apparent scam. The transaction was blocked after they confirmed it was a scam.
TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
A resident in the 1000 block of Pleasant Lane reported around 1:30 p.m. Sept. 18 that they had gotten more than 28 unwanted telephone calls and an unspecified amount of text messages over the course of the prior two days.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
An employee of a cell phone store in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 9:30 am. Sept. 23 that someone broke a glass door and burglarized the interior, stealing cellphones, laptops and cash for a reported loss of $800, plus the cost of the electronics.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
David Schrauth, 55, of the 1600 block of Hawthorne Lane, Glenview, was arrested at noon on Aug. 23 at the Glenview Police Department and charged with identity theft and unlawful possession of a credit card in connection with an investigation of a fraud reported in the 1400 block of Burr Oak Drive on Aug. 5. Police said he spent more than $800 at retail outlets and was identified using images from the businesses security cameras.
Jorge Aparicio, 37, of the 6400 block of Christiana Avenue, Lincolnwood, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Aug. 25 following a traffic stop in the 500 block of East Lake Avenue and charged with an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in Will County Circuit Court. He was also issued a citation for disobeying a traffic control device.
Andre Fermaintt, 28, of the 8800 block of Golf Road, Des Plaines, was arrested around 2:45 a.m. Aug. 30 and charged with theft of more than $500 following an investigation into a report of a domestic battery in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
Hyun Hong, 51, of the 4100 block of Central Road, Glenview, was arrested around 12:30 a.m. Sept. 4 following a traffic stop in the 9400 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked driver’s license from a previous DUI arrest. She was also issued citations for operating a vehicle while using an electronic communication device, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
Sam Calascibetta, 31, of the 2800 block of Landwehr Road, Northbrook, was arrested around 9 a.m. Sept. 4 at the Glenview Police Department on a charge of retail theft stemming from an investigation in to the Feb. 17 theft of $800 worth of teeth whitening strips and allergy medication from the Mariano's at 25 Waukegan Road.
Christopher Christian, 18, of the 1800 block of Greenwood Road, Glenview, was arrested around 8 a.m. Sept. 5 in the 2600 block of Commons Drive by officers investigating a complaint of a suspicious person. He was charged with burglary to a motor vehicle.
Michal Dzienio, 50, of the 5400 block of North Mulligan Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at 3 p.m. at the Glenview Police Department and charged with theft in connection with an investigation into a theft reported in the 2500 block of Ravine Way on July 11.
David Giurgiu, 26, of the 300 block of Park Avenue, Glencoe, turned himself in to Glenview police on the afternoon of Sept. 4 to face charges of criminal sexual abuse and aggravated criminal sexual assault in connection with his work at Glenbrook Hospital.

Lisa Podraza, 38, of the 2500 block of Waterview Drive, Glenview, was arrested around 1:15 a.m. Sept. 7 in her block of residence and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after officers were called to investigate a complaint about a motorist in the area .
Michael Ike, 33, of the 7300 block of South South Shore Drive, Chicago, was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Sept. 8 in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with identity theft after a report someone was using a fraudulent driver's license at that location.
Kyle Larkin, 22, of the 1000 block of South Milwaukee Avenue, Prospect Heights, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Sept. 10 at his home and charged with aggravated battery stemming from an investigation into a report of a robbery at 1:21 a.m. on Sept. 7 in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

Police reported he stole a camera from a person. It was found by patrol officers not far away and contained an image of Larkin, who police said was known to the officers from prior interactions.
Robert Chandler, 50, of the 1700 block of Carib Lane, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 10 in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue by officers investigating a report of an aggravated assault in that location and subsequently charged with attempted armed robbery.

Police said a woman who worked nearby reported that a man brandishing a knife had grabbed her in the parking lot as she left work around 6 p.m. Sept. 8. Police said Chandler's image was captured by cameras in the area.
Solomon Yemi, 39, of the 9900 block of Holly Lane, Des Plaines, was arrested around 12:45 a.m. Sept. 11 in the 1700 block of Robincrest Lane and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or higher after officers were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle.
A 65-year-old Fox Lake woman was issued a citation for violation of local criminal damage ordinances around 3 p.m. Sept. 11 after she got in an argument with the driver on a Pace bus headed to Wilmette. She said he was driving the wrong way and damaged the bus' emergency stop button and its case.
Laura Latacz, 30, of the 3700 block of North Oconto Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 7:45 p.m. Sept. 11 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of Patriot Boulevard. She was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
A 36-year-old Glenview woman was issued a citation for violating the local retail theft ordinance around 3 p.m. Sept. 12 after staff at Von Maur, 1960 Tower Drive, reported seeing her switch price tags on merchandise. She was banned from the store.
A 41-year-old Glenview man was issued a theft citation and banned from the Mariano's, 25 Waukegan Road, around 1 p.m. Sept. 14 after staff reported he stole unspecified merchandise.
Gabriel Valle, 41, of the 8900 block of Robin Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Sept. 14 in the 500 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with disorderly conduct in connection with an investigation into who placed 11 "belligerent calls" to Glenview emergency dispatchers.
Daniel Harrison, 23, of the 3200 block of Coral Lane, Glenview, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Sept. 14 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road. He was also issued citations for improper turn and no turn on red.
A 38-year-old Chicago woman was issued a theft citation around 2:30 p.m. Sept. 16 after she attempted to steal several items of clothing from the Von Maur, 1960 Tower Drive. She was also banned from the store.
Saul Flores-Antonio, 31, of the 1600 block of Greenwood Road, Glenview, was arrested around 3 a.m. Sept. 17 following a traffic stop in the 9500 block of Washington Street in Niles and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater. He was also issued citations for speeding and improper lane usage.
Anthony Sanchez, 26, of the 2400 block of North Neva Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 10 a.m. at the Skokie Courthouse in connection with an investigation into a retail theft reported at the Mariano's, 25 Waukegan Road, on May 16.
Bryanna Hernandez, 21, of the 1700 block of Dewes Street, Glenview, was arrested around 3:30 p.m at the Glenview Police Department and charged with retail theft in connection with an investigation into an Aug. 18 retail theft reported at the Mariano's at 2323 Capital Drive and an Aug. 21 retail theft reported at the grocery store's 25 Waukegan Road location.
William Walsh, 31, of the 1800 block of North Wolcott Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 5 p.m. Sept. 17 and charged with two counts of battery and felony criminal damage to property following an investigation into a report of a battery in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
Mario Rihani, 21, of the 9300 block of Hamlin Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Sept. 17 in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with possession of between 500 and 2000 grams of cannabis following a report of a suspicious vehicle. Police reported finding individually wrapped brownies and Rice Krispies treats, two small scales and 45 vaping cartridges containing suspected THC.
The owner of a vehicle who left a dog locked in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Walgreens, 1403 Waukegan Road, around noon on Sept. 20 was issued a local ordinance citation for animal cruelty but police did not release their identity.
Debra J. Mahler, 62, of the 1700 block of Mission Hills Road, Northbrook, was arrested at 12:45 p.m. Sept. 20 at Von Maur, 1960 Tower Road, and charged with retail theft after officers were dispatched to a report of a theft from the store.
Two adults and six minors from Chicago were arrested charged after officers pulled over a 2017 Infiniti that had been reported stolen from Glencoe. Eric M. Baker, 21, of the 1200 block of South Millard Street who was also found to have an active arrest warrant for forfeiting his bond, and Kareem M. Hassell, 18, of the 1100 block of North Cleveland Avenue, were identified as the two adults and charged with criminal trespassing to a vehicle. The other passengers, a 14-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl, and a pair of 17-year-old boys, were also petitioned to juvenile court on charges of criminal trespassing to a vehicle. The driver, a 17-year-old boy, was petitioned to juvenile court on charges of unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, no valid driver's license and speeding between 26 and 30 mph above the limit.
Rebekah Camacho, 26, of the 4300 block of West Fullerton Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at 12:15 a.m. Sept. 23 following a traffic stop in the the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance and no valid driver’s license and issued citations for speeding and having only one headlight.
