Man Batters Officer After New Year's Fight At Motel 6: Blotter
Holiday lights repeatedly cut; duo with warrants found in stolen car: Glenview Police Department blotter for Dec. 27 to Jan. 2

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO HOLIDAY LIGHTS
A resident in the 1400 block of Brandon Street reported on the morning of Dec. 26 that someone had cut their holiday lights on the outside of their house and around their yard three times since Nov. 27, causing $270 in damage to six strands.
DEFACEMENT
An employee of a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 12:45 p.m. on Dec. 26 that someone wrote on the wall of a bathroom in the business using black marker, causing $25 in damage.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone used a bottle to shatter the rear window of a car parked on a driveway in the 1400 block of Huntington Drive between 10 p.m. on Dec. 26 and 8 a.m. on Dec. 27, causing $280 in damage.
ASSAULT
A man threatened to stab a motorist during an argument between two men in the parking lot of a business around noon on Dec. 27 in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He did not brandish a weapon and left before police arrived.

CAR BURGLARY
An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported on Dec. 27 that someone had burglarized their car between 1 and 2 p.m. by using an unknown object to damage its door frame and break its driver’s side window. A leather backpack with a wallet, credit cards and identification worth $190 were reported stolen.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Road reported around 4:20 p.m. on Dec. 27 that a female shoplifter had hidden two pieces of clothing worth $124 on her person and walked out of the store before she was stopped outside. After returning the items she was given a warning and banned from the store.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
Police were told around 3 p.m. on Dec. 30 that a Samsung Galaxy S9 cellphone purchased from a man at a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan had no network capability and could not be activated for a loss of $220.

ARRESTS
Jonathan Cuspard, 26, of the 900 block of Buccaneer Drive, Glenview, was arrested around 7:35 p.m. on Dec. 24 at his home and charged him with domestic battery following a call about a battery that had just occurred.
Sylvester Crenshaw, 41, of the 1300 block of Kinzy Street, Elkhart, Indiana, was arrested around 7:45 a.m. on Dec. 26 in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road and charged with domestic battery after officers investigated a report of a battery at that location.
James Gatto, 32, of the 1200 block of Greenwood Road, Glenview, was arrested around 7:40 p.m. on Dec. 26 in the 1200 block of Greenwood Road and charged with domestic battery and interference in reporting of domestic violence.
Austin Novotney, 45, of the 600 block of Martin Lane, Deerfield, was arrested around 9:41 p.m. on Dec. 26 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and cited for following too closely after a traffic stop in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
Michelle L. Colburn, 50, of the 8800 block of North Damen Avenue, Palos Hills, and Erik A. Enriquez, 37, of the 10800 block of South Long Avenue, Oak Lawn, were arrested around 5 p.m. on Dec. 28 in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue following an investigation into a theft. Colburn was charged with identity theft and processed on an existing Cook County arrest warrant connected to a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Enriquez had an existing warrant connected to a forgery charge in Bridgeview.
Leanne Hoffman, 26, of the 1500 block of Meadow Lane, Glenview, was arrested around 11:48 p.m. on Dec. 28 in the 1600 block of Meadow Lane and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following an investigation into a traffic crash at that location.
Edwin Abrahamsen, 25, of the 5300 block of North Chester Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 1:38 p.m. on Dec. 29 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and issued a citation for possession of under 10 grams of cannabis following a traffic stop in the 4600 Block of West Lake Avenue.
A 26-year-old North Chicago woman was arrested around 9:52 p.m. on Dec. 29 following a traffic stop in the 2600 Block of Willow Road, charged with driving while license suspended and ticketed for a lack of a rear tail light.
Maria Rivera-Sonido, 22, of the 400 block of Prospect Street, Round Lake Park, and Jayla A. Lueck, 18, of the 300 block of 355 Oak Trails Road, Des Plaines, were arrested around 2:10 a.m. on Dec. 30 and charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle following a traffic stop in the 10000 Block of Linda Lane in Des Plaines and an investigation of a stolen car.
Tavares Hamilton, 32, of the 900 block of West Lawrence Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 30 in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue following an investigation into a report of shoplifting at The Glen Town Center. Hamilton was charged with retail theft, resisting police and processed on a pair of warrants for failing to appear in court in Kendall and DuPage counties. A 34-year-old woman arrested with him was charged with driving with a suspended license.
Yevgenya Pekler, 39, of the 4300 block of Terri Lyn Lane, Northbrook, was arrested around 3:08 p.m. on Dec. 31 in the 1800 block of Shermer Road, Northbrook, and charged with retail theft following an investigation into a report of shoplifting in the 1900 block of Tower Drive.
Jack Marzec, 42, of the 2500 block of Windsor Mall, Park Ridge, was arrested around 4 p.m. on Dec. 31 in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road and charged with retail theft following an investigation into a report of shoplifting at that location.
J.R. Baker, 26, of the 1800 block of North Austin Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 3 a.m. on Jan. 1 at the Motel 6, 1535 Milwaukee Ave., and charged with aggravated battery to a police officer following an investigation of a fight in a hotel room involving several people, becoming the first person arrested in Glenview in 2019. Police said he battered a Cook County police officer after being thrown out of the motel.
