Man Uses Key To Steal High-End Liquor From Store Case: Blotter
Glenview Police Blotter: June 13 - June 19

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations. Everyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
INCIDENTS
BURGLARY TO CAR
A resident in the 2600 block of Chestnut Avenue reported on June 12 that someone stole the front license plate off their Nissan parked at their home sometime since February.

CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 1900 block of Burr Oak Drive reported on June 14 that someone burglarized their car and stole $5 from inside while it was parked in front of their home during the previous overnight hours.
STOLEN CARS
Three stolen vehicles were reported on June 14. Two were recovered, one nearby and one in a southern Cook County suburb.

- Someone stole a Ford Fusion from the 2300 block of Linden Leaf Drive that was believed to have been locked.
- Between midnight and 8 a.m. on June 14, someone stole an Acura with a key fob left inside from the 1600 block of Hawthorne Lane. The car was later found in Calumet City.
- A resident of the 1900 block of Burr Oak Drive reported someone had stolen their Jeep during the previous overnight hours. It was later found in the 1400 block of Burr Oak Drive.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
An employee reported that someone used an unknown tool to puncture the tire of a Ford truck parked at a business sometime between 7 p.m. on June 13 and 5:45 a.m. on June 14 in the 2800 block of Patriot Road, causing $150 in damage.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported that around 3 p.m. on June 14 a woman or girl stole a shirt by stuffing it into her purse and walking out. Police said the shirt was recovered at the scene.
HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 2000 block of Tower Road reported on June 14 that someone had stolen two Michele watches and a Louis Vuitton case worth about $8,500 combined from their home sometime during the prior six months. Numerous people had unsupervised access to the home during that period, police were told.
CAR BURGLARY
A resident in the 1900 block of Ammer Ridge Court reported on June 14 that someone had gotten into a parked car outside their home, ransacking the interior but taking nothing between 9:30 p.m. on June 13 and 9:30 a.m. on June 14. It was not reported if the car was locked.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 1600 block of Greenwood Road reported on June 16 that someone threw two landscaping bricks at their Ford, shattering the rear window, denting a rear panel and doing about $750 in damage between 10 p.m. on June 15 and 10 a.m. on June 16.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee of a business in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road reported on June 16 that a man had come into the store around 8 p.m. on June 13, opened a liquor display cabinet with a key and stole a $247 bottle of bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label. He was described as 6-foot-tall, 210-pound black man with short black hair and black-rimmed glasses. A possibly related incident with a similar suspect took had taken place a short time earlier at another business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road.
THEFT
A resident in the 700 block of Waukegan Road reported on June 16 that someone stole a mountain bike worth $375 from a storage area at their residence between June 14 and June 16.
BATTERY
An employee of a restaurant in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported on June 17 that someone they knew and had a dispute with came into a restaurant and threw a cup of soda on them. The cup-thrower was not located.
ARRESTS
Sarah Yoo, 30, of the 3400 block of Lake Knoll Drive in Northbrook, was arrested at 10:27 p.m. at a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road and charged with retail theft.
Elorm Agbenya, 18, of the 900 block of Greenwood Road in Glenview, was arrested at 9 a.m. on June 14 at her home and charged with harassment by electronic communication.
Michael Stoianovici, 50, of the 1800 block of South 61st Street in Cicero, was arrested at 8:35 a.m. on June 14 in the 2000 block of Waukegan Road and charged with battery and assault in connection with a June 13 incident at a business in the 2000 block of Waukegan Road on June 13.
A 39-year-old Dolton man was arrested around 9 p.m. on June 13 in the 1600 block of East Lake Ave. and charged with driving while license suspended. He was released on a $1,500.00 D bond with a court date of 07/30/18.
Remigio Merino, 60, of the 4600 block of North Lowell Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 2:36 a.m. on June 17 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol concentration above 0.0 following a traffic stop in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was also issued citation sfor improper lane usage and speeding 15 to 20 mph above the limit.
Dalton Eggerson, 29, of the 600 block of North Central Park Avenue in Chicago, was arrested at 2:33 p.m. on June 17 near the intersection of Lehigh Avenue and Rugen Road on a Cook County arrest warrant issued in connection with a charge of retail theft.
