Mardi Gras Celebration and Skate Party Coming to Glenview Parks
Glenview Park District's weekly calendar of events for Feb. 16-Feb. 22

GLENVIEW, IL — Looking for some fun and mostly free winter events in Glenview? Check out this calender of upcoming events provided by the Glenview Park District.
The Freeze Basic Skills Figure Skating Competition
5-9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 17 and 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 18 at Glenview Ice Center, 1851 Landwehr Rd.
Take a break from the cold and watch the skating stars of tomorrow at this United States Figure Skating sanctioned competition which draws more than 180 participants across the Midwest and beyond. Free admission for spectators.
Restoration Work Day
9 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 18 at Kent Fuller Air Station Prairie, 2400 Compass Rd.
Help the restoration team remove invasive plants to make way for native prairie grasses. Seasonal activities include brush cutting, weed removal and seed collection. Bring work gloves if you have them. Work parties may be cancelled in case of inclement weather.
Glenview Resident Open House
9-11:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 18 at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave.
Learn more about the Village, Park District, Library, Schools, Chamber of Commerce, Northfield Township, and NorthShore University HealthSystem (Glenbrook Hospital). Enjoy refreshments, crafts and more. Sponsored by the Village of Glenview; coordinated by the Glenview Communicators.
FREE! School's Out at Wagner Farm
10 a.m.-12 p.m., Monday, Feb. 20 at Historic Wagner Farm, 1510 Wagner Rd.
Looking for a fun way to spend your day off from school? Then get out of the house and visit Historic Wagner Farm on President's Day. Join us for a morning of arts and crafts, stories, activities and farm animals. Free of charge. No preregistration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Appropriate for ages 2-10 years.

Fat Wednesday, Mardi Gras Party
12 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22 at The East Wing, 2400 Chestnut Ave.
Join us for a delicious New Orleans-style buffet with Mardi Gras music performed by Dennis Stroughmatt & Creole Spirit. Member fee $20 and nonmembers $25. For more information, call 847-724-4793.

Park Center Winter Art Show
Daily, Feb. 1-28, at Park Center, 2400 Chestnut Ave.
Get out of the cold and check out some local art! Stop by Park Center to see all of the great art work submitted by Visual Art Class students for this annual art show. The show is comprised of art from all ages and levels of art students. This event is free and on display during regular business hours. For more information, call 847-724-5670.
Winter Sledding and Outdoor Ice Skating
Daily until 10 p.m., weather permitting at the following parks:
Flick Park, 3600 Glenview Road, Johns Park, 2101 Central Road and Roosevelt Park, 2200 Grove Street
Hop on your sled, lace up your skates and head over to one of these neighborhood parks for some outdoor frosty fun! Signs will be posted at each park’s entrance when sledding and skating is permitted on any given day. For current rink/sled hill conditions, sign up for our Rainout Line at glenviewparks.org.
Friday Night Meltdowns
8:15-10:15 p.m., Fridays through May 5 at Glenview Ice Center, 1851 Landwehr Rd.
Join us for an awesome skate and dance party! A DJ plays today’s hits and disco lighting shines on the ice throughout the night. This is a great night out for teens and admission is only $8 per person. Bring your own skates or rent a pair for the evening. Rental skates are $4 per pair.
