GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
TRESPASSING
An employee at Heinen's Grocery Store, 1020 Waukegan Road, reported around 10 a.m. on Jan. 14 that a man was soliciting customers in the store, and staff no longer wanted him there.
FORGERY
A resident in the 1600 block of East Ridgewood Lane reported around 12:15 p.m. on Jan. 14 that someone stole a $21 check mailed to a business. The check was cashed with the name and amount changed for a reported loss of $8,700.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A motorist in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 15 that another motorist drove around her stopped vehicle, got out of his car and kicked her passenger door, denting it and causing $300 in damage.
HOME BURGLARY
A resident in the 2100 block of Rugen Road reported around 4 p.m. on Jan. 15 that someone broke in through a front door and stole jewelry and cash for a $2,500 loss.

SHOPLIFTING
An employee of an unspecified business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported around 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 15 that two minors stole bottles of alcohol in a backpack for an unknown loss.
HARASSMENT
An employee at Guarantee Trust, 1275 Milwaukee Ave., reported around 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 16 that a disgruntled customer had left a voicemail threatening to come to the business and cause trouble.
SUSPICIOUS LETTERS
Staff at Printwell Printing at 1717 Chestnut Ave. reported around 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 16 that they had gotten two letters from someone demanding the removal of a display in front of the business.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
An employee at Pro Samgyubsal, 3420 Milwaukee Ave., reported around 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 17 that customers had been causing a disturbance and trying to leave the establishment with open bottles of alcohol.
FORGERY
An employee of an unspecified business in the 2400 block of Sanders Road reported around 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 18 that someone had filled a car with gas and tried to purchase food using two counterfeit $20 bills.
BATTERY
An employee of a tow truck business in the 2000 block of Johns Drive reported around 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 19 that an irate customer had pushed them after getting angry because their car was towed for a parking sticker violation.
BAD CHECK
An employee of Eoana Derma Spa, 1055 Waukegan Road, reported around 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 20 that a $1,400 check a customer used to pay for a service later bounced.
CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone burglarized an unlocked car in the 3200 block of Ronald Road prior to 2 p.m. on Jan. 14, rummaging through the center console without stealing anything.
- Someone burglarized an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 1400 block of Hollywood Avenue during the overnight hours of Jan. 18 to Jan. 19. Nothing was reported stolen at the time of the report.
- A gym bag containing sports equipment and shoes was stolen from a parked car in the 1400 block of Huntington Drive after it was left unlocked during during the overnight hours of Jan. 18 to Jan. 19 for a reported loss of $410.
- An employee of a business in the 3000 block of North Lake Terrace reported around 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 20 that someone had stolen a cellphone, checkbook, wallet and keys from a locked car between 5 p.m. on Jan. 17 and 10 a.m. on Jan. 20 for a loss of $340.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES
- After noticing a pair of golf carts being driven northbound on Shermer Road, officers discovered someone had burglarized the Glenview Golf Club at 800 Shermer Road, stealing alcohol and damaging equipment for an unknown loss.
- Officers dispatched to an activated burglar alarm at the BP gas station at 242 Waukegan Road around 2:45 a.m. on Jan. 21 discovered someone had shattered a glass door, causing $1,000 in damage. Nothing was reported stolen from inside.
- A passerby reported around 3 a.m. on Jan. 21 that several men appeared to be trying to break the window on the door at a business in a strip mall in the 500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. The glass was shattered, but it remained in the frame and the door remained locked. The estimated cost of the damage was $1,000.
- Officers dispatched to a burglary alarm at a car wash in the 800 block of Milwaukee Avenue found the front door glass had been shattered, causing $500 in damage. Nothing was reported stolen at the time of the report.
RETAIL THEFTS
- Staff at the Jewel-Osco, 2502 Waukegan Road, reported around 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 14 that someone stole 24 bottles of alcohol with a value of more than $715 after taking them from the shelf, loading them into a cart and leaving.
- An employee at the Von Mauer, 1960 Tower Drive, reported around 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 14 that someone had purchased a watch, gloves and clothing worth $2,600 using a stolen credit card.
IDENTITY THEFTS
- A Pfingsten Road resident reported on the morning of Jan. 17 that someone had transferred $5,000 from a checking account to an unknown person's credit card account.
- A Saranac Lane resident reported around 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 18 that someone gained control of their cellphone number, exposing their stored data to potential fraudsters. There was no loss reported at the time of the report.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Giovanni Sanchez, 24, of the 9900 block of Linda Lane, Des Plaines, was arrested around 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 13 in the 9700 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with forgery after police said he tried to buy cigarettes and a lighter using a fraudulent $100.00 bill. No further information about the incident that led to his arrest was immediately available from police.
Ivan Mercado, 38, of the 6400 block of North Washtenaw Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 14 at the Skokie Courthouse and charged with felony theft of between $1,000 and $10,000 stemming from an investigation into checks stolen from North Branch Grill, 4520 Milwaukee Ave. Police said he used more than a dozen stolen checks at various places, including a check cashing store in Chicago.
Michael Velissaris, 31, of the 1600 block of Waukegan Road, Glenview, was arrested around 4 p.m. on Jan. 14 in the 4400 block of Willow Road and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following an investigation into a one-car traffic crash. He was also issued a failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash citation.
Julietta Guliano, 45, of the 9700 block of Harold Avenue, Schiller Park, was arrested around 3 p.m. on Jan. 15 at the Glenview Police Department and charged with forgery and theft of between $10,000 and $100,000 following an investigation into a May 2018 report that someone had stolen about $184,000 from a medical office in the 2300 block of Ravine Way. Police said Guliano, a former practice manager, stole cash payments from the business over a three-year period.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 15, a 37-year-old Prospect Heights man was arrested following a traffic stop in the 500 block of East Lake Avenue and charged with driving without a valid driver's license.
Guran Pavlov, 19, of the 7600 block of Kenton Avenue, Skokie, was arrested at 10 a.m. on Jan. 16 at the Glenview Police Department and charged with battery following an investigation of into a report of a battery at Glenbrook Hospital, 2100 Pfingsten Road.
Tiara Jordan, 27, of the 8200 block of South Brandon Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 2 p.m. on Jan. 16 at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1900 Tower Drive, and charged with retail theft following a report of shoplifting from the business.
Laura Arieli, 24, of the 4400 block of North Long Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 11 p.m. on Jan. 16 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 800 block of East Lake Avenue. She was also issued citations for improper lane usage, speeding 15 to 25 mph above the limit and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
