Morning Hours Yield Sluggish Turnout At Some Precincts
Election judges at Village of Glenview Precincts 12 and 19 say turnout was slow Tuesday, April 5.
Voter turnout early Tuesday has been a little slow in some Glenview precincts, but some election officials believe it may pick up at or after lunch.
It doesn't appear the weather is a factor; though a brisk wind is blowing, Glenview is dawning clear and sunny blue skies.
This year, Glenview has only three contested races—, the Park District Commission Board and District 207 School Board. Citizens will choose between Yasmeen Bilimoria, , , and John Smith for four seats on the District 30 school board. Park District candidates include , , David May and vying for two spots. And finally, Donna Pellar, Joann Braam, Sean Sullivan, Eric Poders and Marijo Bustos will compete for three seats in the District 207 race. Also on the ballot, a District 31 referendum may mean $2.2 million more in taxes for local residents. Catch up on the controversy here.

Precinct 12 had a total of 20 voters, because they also got two absentee ballots, Castagna said. Precinct 19 had an additional 15 absentee ballots, but election officials also hope the voting will pick up.
"This precinct usually votes at 70 percent," said Joan, a precinct judge who asked that her last name be withheld. "It's not looking anywhere near that right now."
