Police said the symbol was engraved in a wooden tower at 2001 Patriot Blvd.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

ARRESTS

REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

Levine Johnson, 35, of the 100 block of Oakley Drive, Westmont, is accused of driving on a revoked driver's license, disregarding a traffic control light, and was arrested at 8:26 p.m. June 30, following a traffic crash investigation in the 2400 block of Sanders Road. He was released and assigned a court date of July 25.

  • Bertha Solorio, 48, of the 700 block of W. Ivanhoe Lane, Mount Prospect, is accused of having no valid driver's license, failure to dim headlights for an approaching vehicle, and was arrested at 10:32 p.m. June 26, following a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Landwehr Road. She was released and assigned a court date of Aug. 8.
  • Juan Carlos Luna Gutierrez, 35, of the 300 block of 3rd Street, is accused of having no driver's license, no insurance, a suspended registration, and was arrested at 9:23 p.m. June 27, following a traffic stop inthe 3600 block of Willow Road. He was released and assigned a court date of July 30.

BATTERY

Paul Seaman, 58, of the 3600 block of Linneman Street, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 8:07 p.m. June 26, following an investigation into an incident that occurred at Jewel-Osco, 1340 Patriot Blvd. He was released and assigned a court date of July 24.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Sergio Avila, 36, of the 3600 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, is accused of criminal damage to property, and was arrested at 4:02 a.m. June 27, at Motel 6, 1535 Milwaukee Avenue. He was released and was assigned a court date of July 24.

IDENTITY THEFT

Teahanna Wade-Hunt, 20, of the 700 block of Donna Court, Wheeling, is accused of two counts of identity theft, and was arrested June 27 following an investigation into incidents that occurred on June 6 and June 11 in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of June 28.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

  • An Independence Avenue resident reported at 1:16 p.m. June 25, receiving an email from Microsoft that said their computer was compromised and they needed to contact them to remedy the situation. After speaking with a male, they allowed him to have remote access to their computer, which the male advised was to install a firewall. He then demanded payment of $1,400, which they refused. Their laptop is now not functioning. They did not provide any money, financial information, or gift cards to the subject.
  • A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive called police at 4:41 p.m. June 21, to report they had received an email from Paypal which said to contact the phone number about fraudulent activityon their account. They called and spoke with a male. They gave him control of their computer and he told them he made an error during a transaction.He told them to go to a business in the 700 block of Waukegan Road and use the Bitcoinmachine to return the money. They transferred $4,324 at the machine from their account.
  • A Happy Hollow Road resident reported on June 28 that on the previous day, they had received an email from service paypal.com advising them of a fraudulent transaction on their Paypal account. The email advised them to contact them via telephone to cancel and claim a refund. They called the number and spoke with a person, who was granted remote access to their computer and set up a wire transfer of $29,650 from their bank account which they allegedly approved the transaction.
  • A resident in the 1600 block of Blackthorn Drive called police at 6:27 p.m. July 1, to report posting a Facebook Marketplace ad for babysitting. They received a message from a person saying they were a Glenview resident who was currently in Ireland and requested help shopping for items for their daughter’s birthday party. They were asked to purchase tablecloths, party favors, 4 Applegift cards for $25 each, and one XBOX gift card for $100. The person requested the complainant to send the gift card numbers and access codes, which they complied. The person sent them an electronic check for $1,030 and asked them to cash it, which they did not and realized it was ascam.

BATTERY

  • A resident in the 1900 block of Monroe Avenue called police at 8:48 p.m. June 25, to report a man had grabbed their buttocks while they were walking near Waukegan Road and Willow Road. They described the male as Hispanic, heavy set with brown hair, brown eyes, round-shaped face, wearing a grey sweatshirt, black shorts and white Nike Air Forces. As they passed him on the sidewalk near the Pace bus stop, he reached out and grabbed them. They screamed and punched him in the face. The male ran into the nearby subdivision. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the man.
  • A Niles resident reported at 5:17 p.m. June 28, a road rage incident that occurred near the intersection of Milwaukee and Greenwood roads. They related they were cut off by an unknown male near Central Road and Milwaukee Avenue before "flipping off" one another. They came to stop at Milwaukee and Greenwood where they related they approached the person who had gotten out of his vehicle. A physical altercation ensued and they ended up with a broken left humerus before the male left the area.

RETAIL THEFT

A Buffalo Grove resident reported on June 26, working at a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 12:30 p.m. June 23. They were in the cafeteria and another employee became upset and yelled at them about not picking up trays. The other employee then pushed them and punched them in the face. Both parties were terminated after the incident.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • During a premise check at 4:14 a.m. June 27, police found the front and rear windshields shatterered on a vehicle that had been parked in the south end a parking lot in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. They were unable to locate the owner.
  • Employees of a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 4:15 a.m. June 27, to report the window for a room had been shattered by an unknown person. The man is seen on surveillance video throwing objects at the east side of the building. The man appears to be white, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-8, 130 to 150 pounds, black hair, skinny build, wearing a black shirt, gray shorts, black shoes, black backpack, carrying a red/blue skateboard. Damage estimated at $240.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Wildwood Lane resident called police at 3:55 p.m. June 27, to report receiving a phone call from a male, who said he worked with Chase Bank fraud department. The male asked them to provide all their personal information, along with their children’s and spouse’s. After an hour of speaking with him, they realized it was a scam. They went to Chase Bank who confirmed it was not them calling and they advised there were $90,000 worth of charges on three credit cards made somewhere in Asia.

STOLEN VEHICLE

A resident in the 2000 block of McArthur Drive called police at 3:35 a.m. June 28, to report seeing two males park a cube-shaped SUV near McArthur and Montgomery. The men exited the car and began pulling on car handles. Officers located the vehicle near Harrison and Shermer. The vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed after seeing officers. Officers located a vehicle on the street in the 100 block of Lincoln Street, with the lights on and the window rolled down. Officers spoke with the registered owner, who said the vehicle had been parked in their driveway and they did not move it down the street.

FLEEING AND ELUDING POLICE

At 4:07 a.m. June 28, while responding to a suspcious vehicle call police located the vehicle with a male driver, 15 to 25 years of age, black hair, wearing a gray-hooded sweatshirt. Officers located the vehicle at Shermer and Golf roads and observed it traveling 74 mph in a 40 mph zone. Officers activated their emergency lights and the driver accelerated eastbound Golf Road and the traffic stop was terminated.

MOB ACTION

A Glencoe resident reported at 10:21 p.m. June 28, they had spoken with a person via snapchat who told them to come to a party in the 2200 block of Daisy Avenue. They did not know the person, but their friends wanted to go to the party. Upon their arrival, a group of males approached their vehicle and confronted them about comments they made. They were attacked by three to four individuals causing a bloody nose and swelling on the face. They believe they were set up by a subject because of some ex-relationship related issues. The offenders were later identified. They are unsure if they want to sign complaints at this time.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

Glenview Park District employees reported at 1:10 p.m. June 30, finding graffiti on the pavilion near the playground at Community Park West, 1001 Zenith Drive. The soda machine was also damaged, with the lock broken.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

  • A resident in the 2700 block of Commons Drive called police at 3:39 p.m. July 1, to report someone had entered their locked storage cage in the enclosed parking garage of the building. Several tools and a foldable wagon were removed, but the wagon was found near the overhead garage door.
  • A resident of the 2500 block of Indigo Lane called police at 3:05 p.m. July 1, tor eport their car parked in the in front of the complex, when it had last been parked in the parking garage. After further investigation, it was determined a male wearing a black hoodie, blue face mask, blue jeans, and white shoes entered the valet office at 2:50 a.m. and stole seven key fobs. The male walked into the underground parking garage and entered the complainant’s vehicle, leaving the garage at 3:02 a.m. It is unknown what time the vehicle was left at the front of the complex.
  • A resident of the 2700 block of Commons Drive called police at 5:16 p.m. July 1, to report someone had accessed their locked storage unit in the garage and removed a telescope and a portable cooler. The person appears to have been a male black wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans, andwhite shoes, with a white surgical mask. Complaints will be signed. Total loss is $3,700.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT

Glenview Park District employees reported at 4:02 p.m. July 1, finding a Nazi symbol engraved on the wooden tower at Gallery Park, 2001 Patriot Boulevard at 2:45 p.m. June 30. The damage was repaired.
