New 5K/10K Race Features Live Music In Glenview
The Jammin' 5K/10K at Gallery Park will include live bands along the course and a fun postrace party for the entire family.
GLENVIEW, IL — Residents will have a chance to rock and run at the upcoming Jammin' 5K/10K and Foam Frenzy Fun Run. The inaugural event, hosted by the Glenview Park District, will feature live bands along the course and a fun postrace party for the entire family at Gallery Park.
The Jammin’ 5K/10K begins at 8 a.m. July 26, and is a timed event for ages 10 and older, with age group awards. The Foam Frenzy Fun Run begins at 9:30 a.m. and is a half mile for participants ages 5 to 12. Children under 5 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
"We're thrilled to introduce a brand-new race format that welcomes participants of all ages," said Kathleen McInnis, Park Center health and fitness manager. "This year, we're turning up the energy by adding live music, making it our most exciting and memorable race experience yet."

According to organizers, featured bands along the race route will include Roger That, playing California Surf, British Invasion, and American Rockabilly; South of Grand, playing Rock and Blues; and School of Rock Glenbrook, playing rock and pop tunes.
Runners in the 5K/10K race will receive a t-shirt, commemorative finisher's medal and post-race party. Foam Frenzy participants will receive a youth t-shirt, a commemorative entry bib, and access to to a fun foam party at the finish line.

The entry fee is $69 per person for the 5K/10K; participants can save $10 by registering by May 31. Foam Frenzy registration is $30, or $25 by May 31. For additional information and to register, visit glenviewparks.org.
