New Coronavirus Cases Double From Prior Week Increase In Glenview
The Cook County Department of Health is reporting 67,160 confirmed cases and 1,991 deaths in the county since the pandemic began.
GLENVIEW, IL — Like every other municipality in Illinois, the Village of Glenview has been dealing with its own unique data points regarding the coronavirus. According to the Cook County Medical Examiner, 51 people have died due to COVID-19 in Glenview since April 7. That marks no new deaths in Glenview the last seven weeks. The last death in Glenview was one on Aug. 26. The most deaths in a single day since the pandemic began was four on April 14.
As of Friday, there have been 1,090 coronavirus-related cases in Glenview, according to the Cook County Department of Public Health. That marks an increase of 70 cases since Oct. 9. For further comparison, there were 35 new cases between Oct. 2-9.
In addition, 70,750 people have been tested across zip codes 60016, 60025, 60026, 60029 and 60062, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health. That number represents an increase of 4,629 tests since Oct. 9. For further comparison, there was an increase of 3,398 tests between Oct. 2-9.

According to the medical examiner, the age breakdown for the 51 deaths are: 80+ (37), 70-79 (13) and 60-69 (1).

The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 14,370 confirmed cases in Cook County long-term facilities and 2,397 deaths. These numbers had not been updated since Oct. 2. It marks an increase of 52 cases and seven deaths in the last two weeks. In the past, the IDPH has twice temporarily removed some cases and deaths since Patch has been tracking these numbers, before including them back in at a later date.

- Presence Maryhaven — 13 cases, 4 deaths
- Vi at The Glen — 27 cases, 4 deaths
These numbers include both residents and employees of the long-term care facilities.
