Over $7,000 Spent On Forged Checks, Stolen Cards: Glenview Crime Reports

Glenview Police Blotter: Aug. 28 - Sept. 4

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. Readers are reminded that an arrest is not an indicator of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

FORGERY
On Aug. 30 at 9:45 a.m., a resident in the 2200 block of Central Road reported someone forged checks and withdrew $1,700 in funds from a bank account.

BURGLARY
On Aug. 30 at 10:59 a.m., a patron in the 1200 block of Church Street reported someone took credit cards from their unlocked vehicle in the parking lot and used them to purchase $1,900 worth of merchandise.

FORGERY
On Aug. 30 at 11:22 a.m., a resident in the 3600 block of Winnetka Road reported someone stole a check and withdrew $2,000 in funds from a bank account.

RETAIL THEFT
On Aug. 30 at 11:46 a.m., an employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone walked out of the store with $10 worth of merchandise without paying.

BURGLARY
On Aug. 30 at 1:56 p.m., a patron in the 3600 block of Glenview Road reported someone broke a window on her car in the parking lot and stole a purse for a reported loss of $900.

BURGLARY
On Aug. 30 at 5:41 p.m., a patron at the train station in the 2300 block of Lehigh Avenue reported someone broke the rear window on her vehicle and stole a purse for a reported loss of $700.

RETAIL THEFT
On Aug. 30 at 10:20 p.m., an employee in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported someone entered the store, filled a cart with water and soda valued at $45 and then left the store without paying.

UNWANTED SUBJECTS
On Aug. 30 at 11:55 p.m., an employee in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported a customer had too many individuals in their room and argued about the rules.

THEFT
On Aug. 31 at 12:23 p.m., an employee in the 4700 block of Willow Road reported someone stole an I-phone, money and credit cards from their desk for a reported loss of $430.

FORGERY
On Aug. 31 at 7:35 p.m., an employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported someone presented a fraudulent check of $1,800 for merchandise.

UNWANTED SUBJECT
On Sept. 1 at 3:19 a.m., an employee in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone was sleeping on a bench outside of the business.

BURGLARY
On Sept. 1 at 9:33 a.m. a resident in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone entered their unlocked vehicle in the parking lot and stole a wallet and passport for a reported loss of $800.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
On Sept. 1 at 4:55 p.m. a resident in the 800 block of Hunter Road reported receiving several unwanted telephone calls.

TRESPASSING
On Sept. 1 at 9:41 p.m., a homeowner in the 3300 block of Lindenwood Lane reported someone entered their house without permission.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
On Sept. 2 at 9 a.m., a resident in the 1300 block of Somerset Drive reported someone spray painted in black on the sidewalk.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On Sept. 2 at 10:50 a.m., an employee in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone was in room taking a shower without permission.

ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT
On Sept. 2 at 3:25 p.m., a resident of the 1000 block of Shermer Road reported receiving unwanted text messages.

THEFT
On Sept. 2 at 3:39 p.m., a restaurant patron in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported money was taken from a wallet left at a table for a reported loss of $40.

NOISE COMPLAINT
On Sept. 2 at 5:40 p.m. a resident in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road reported someone was drinking beer and playing loud music.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
On Sept. 2 at 5:47 p.m., a resident in the 1800 block of Tower Drive reported someone cracked the windshield on their car while it was in the parking garage, doing an estimated $1,000 in damage.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On Sept. 2 at 6:19 p.m., an employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone was watching offensive videos on their computer while seated at the patio.

IDENTITY THEFT
On Sept. 2 at 8:48 p.m., a resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported receiving a fraudulent e-mail instructing him to enter personal information.

On Sept. 3 at 12:56 p.m., a resident in the 1900 block of Glen Oak Drive reported someone used a credit account to make $500 in several unauthorized purchases.

THEFT
On Sept. 3 at 1:30 p.m., an employee in the 2500 block of Chestnut Avenue reported someone stole a wallet from her purse for a reported loss of $215.

INTOXICATED PERSON
On Sept. 3 at 7:39 p.m., a passerby reported a man sleeping on the park lawn in the 1900 block of Prairie Street.

CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
On Sept. 4 at 10:24 a.m., a park patron reported someone spray painted on a wall of the lookout tower in the 2400 Chestnut Avenue, for an estimated $50 in repair costs.

RETAIL THEFT
On Sept. 4 at 2:35 p.m., an employee in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported someone took a speaker from the shelf and walked out of the store without paying for a reported loss of $60.

ELECTRONIC HARASSMENT
On Sept. 4 at 2:10 p.m., a resident in the 1000 block of Queens Lane reported receiving a unwanted electronic message.

On Sept. 4 at 2:12 p.m., a resident in the 4400 block of Lainie Circle reported receiving unwanted electronic communications.

THEFT
On Sept. 4 at 3:29 p.m., a shopper at in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone stole a wallet from a shopping cart for a reported loss of $100.

THEFT
On Sept. 4 at 4:48 p.m., a resident reported a bicycle was stolen in the 800 block of Shermer Road for a reported loss of $600.

WELL-BEING CHECK
On Sept. 4 at 7:02 p.m., a passing motorist reported a man was walking in the middle of the 1400 block of Glenview Road.

RETAIL THEFT
On Sept. 4 at 9:27 a.m., an employee in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone took $25 worth of make-up from the store shelf and left the store without paying.

ARRESTS

AGGRAVATED BATTERY

Kleomenis Papadatos, 28, of the 3900 block of Miller Drive, Glenview, was charged with aggravated battery on Aug. 28 at 11 a.m. after an investigation in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Avenue. Police did not disclose any information about the incident that led to his arrest.

SPEEDING

A 36-year-old Prospect Heights man was charged with speeding more than 35 mph over the posted limit in the 500 block of Shermer Road on Aug. 30.

RETAIL THEFT

Cynthia Langendorf, 57, of the 500 block of Meadow Drive West, Wilmette, was charged with retail theft in the 1900 block of Tower Drive at 2:27 p.m. on Aug. 31. Police did not disclose what she is accused of stealing, what its reported value was and from where she is accused of stealing it.

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF AMMO

Vernon Hill, 38, of the 1700 block of Payne Street in Evanston, was charged with unlawful possession of ammunition with no valid FOID in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road on Aug. 31 at 10:45 p.m.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Dalton Deaton, 21, of the 900 block of Buccaneer Drive was arrested on Sept. 1 at 2:17 p.m. and charged with domestic battery at his home.

SUSPENDED LICENSE

A 47-year-old Glenview man was arrested Sept. 2 at 1:45 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license in the 600 Block of Milwaukee Avenue.
