Parolee Captured In Glenview After Daylong Manhunt
The handcuffed felon fled a parole officer Tuesday morning on the South Side before he was arrested in Glenview 12 hours later.

GLENVIEW, IL — A partially handcuffed parolee who escaped arrest Tuesday morning in Chicago was taken into custody about 12 hours later in Glenview. Kir Moorman, 29, of the 2700 block of East 81st Street, was being arrested after he was allegedly in violation of his parole shortly before 10:30 a.m. He had been sentenced to seven years in prison 2014 for an armed robbery conviction was was paroled earlier this month.
Police said Moorman overpowered an Illinois Department of Corrections parole officer who was trying to take him into custody and fled. She reportedly managed to place cuffs one of his hands before he escaped.
Moorman had prior felony convictions for residential burglary, methamphetamine possession and having a gun as a felon since 2008.

He was taken into custody Tuesday night in Glenview without incident. No one was injured in the search or apprehension, police said.
Moorman was in Chicago police custody and one was injured in the search or apprehension, according to police. The circumstances of his arrest were not immediately disclosed.

Chicago police referred questions to IDOC. An IDOC spokesperson did not immediately respond to questions about the incident.
