Parolee Captured After Escaping Custody On South Side

Kir Moorman was taken into custody in Glenview after escaping during a parole check the South Shore neighborhood Tuesday morning.

CHICAGO,IL - A manhunt is on for a parolee who escaped police custody in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood Tuesday morning. Multiple Chicago TV reports indicate Kir Moorman, 29, been on the run since 10:30 a.m.

WGN reports that Moorman overpowered a female Illinois Department of Corrections officer near the corner of 81st Street and Burnham Avenue.

A report from ABC-7 shows that Moorman was on parole for an armed robbery that occurred in 2013. The corrections officer was there on a scheduled parole check, where it was allegedly found that Moorman was in violation of his parole.

Police searched by air and on ground in the area. Moorman was still on the run at 6 p.m. He is considered armed and dangerous. Call 911 if you see him.
