Person Calls Emergency Services 89 Times: Glenview PD Blotter

None of the calls made during the six days were for emergency services, according to police.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Batmunkh Altankhuyag. 35, of the 3600 block of Thornhill Drive, Elgin, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding 15-20 mph over the limit, following too closely, failure to notify secretary of state of address change, and was arrested at 8:45 p.m. Feb. 28, following a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of March 24.

Phillip Puccio, 36, of the 3800 block of Standish Road, Marengo, had a warrant for failure to appear (no bond) out of Cook County, and was arrested at 9:31 p.m. March 2, in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

INCIDENTS

TRESPASSING

Union Pacific Railway reported at 4:48 a.m. Feb. 26, trespassers on their rail line near the 4100 block of Cove Lane. Officers located two people walking on the tracks. They said they were just walking and talking. Per Union Pacific, only warnings, no citations, were issued.

TRESPASS WARNING

A Waukegan resident called police at 11:47 a.m. Feb. 26, to report staying at a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue and the staff accused them of causing damage to the room. Staff said the room was checked prior to check in and upon check out, there was a large hole found in the mattress. The employees believe two dogs caused the damage and requested the guests pay for repair. The person denied the allegation and refused to pay for the damage. They were given a trespass warning not to return.

RETAIL THEFT

An employee for a business in the 2300 block of Capital Drive called police on Feb. 26 to report that two days earlier, a male had concealed multiple bottles of alcohol in his backpack and shopping cart, before passing the last point of purchase without paying for the 42 items. The male entered a vehicle and left the scene. Total loss is $1,844.72. Police said the male is a suspect in several thefts from other business locations.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY

The Cook County Sheriff's Office reported at 4:50 p.m. Feb. 26, two people involved in a physical altercation in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue near the bus shelter. Officers spoke with a person who was being treated in the ambulance for minor injuries, but was showing signs of intoxication. They refused to speak with officers and were not making sense. They spoke with the second person who advised they believed the other appeared to be in need of assistance, but when they went to help them, they called them racial slurs and put their hands on them. One was transported to Glenbrook Hospital for treatment.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Glenview Public Safety Dispatch reported that between Feb. 22 and Feb. 27, someone had called the 10-digit emergency number 69 times without requesting any emergency services. They were advised to stop calling unless they needed assistance. They then called back on Feb. 27, talking about who they voted for. The person was told that failure to stop calling could result in prosecution, to which they replied, "Try it, bitch, try it." On Feb. 23, they were told to cease calling 9-1-1 after they called 20 times over five hours without needing emergency services.

THREAT

An employee for a business in the 2700 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 3:42 p.m. Feb. 28, to report a Chicago resident had called the business and said that they would shoot everyone there and blow them away. An extra watch was placed on the office. There are no complaints to be signed, and the employee only wanted to document the incident.

FLEEING OR ELUDING POLICE

Police attempted a traffic stop at 12:18 a.m. March 4, for three dirt bikes with no registration in the 2000 block of Harrison Street. All three bikes fled the area in different directions at high rates of speed. The traffic stop attempt was ceased and the trio were never located.
