Man Steals Large Amount Of Silverware, Napkins: Glenview PD Blotter
When restaurant staff told him to stop, he began yelling at them and causing a disturbance.

Shin Shin, 74, of the 2200 block of Castilian, Northbrook, is accused of leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give information to render aid, improper laune use for a median, and was arrested in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road at 5:41 p.m. Feb. 13, following a traffic crash investigation. The crash had occurred an hour before at Willow Road and Waterview Drive. Shin was released and assigned a court date of March 6.

Heidy Torres, 21, of the 1900 block of W. Touhy Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence, reckless driving, failing to yield to a stationary emergency vehicle, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, illegal transportation of alcohol, not driving on the right side of the road, and was arrested at 7:34 p.m. Feb. 10, following a traffic crash investigation involving a Glenview Fire Department engine in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Torres was and assigned a court date of March 24.
ARMED ROBBERY
Robert A. Wilson, 36, of the 17800 block of Princeton Lane, Country Club Hills, is accused of armed robbery, and was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Feb. 11, at the Markham Courthouse. The arrest followed an investigation into an incident that occured on Jan. 7 in the 1100 block of Raleigh Road.

INCIDENTS
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident reported at 9:59 a.m. Feb. 19, someone had gained entry to their locker at a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road and removed several credit cards from their wallet. The credit cards were later used at Costco and Best Buy stores.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
An employee for a business in the 100 block of Shermer Road reported that at 8:42 a.m. Feb. 17, the surveillance cameras captured a vehicle driving over the snow-covered grassy area on the property. They were uncertain whether any damage had occurred. Officers reached out to the registered owner of the vehicle, a car dealership in Skokie. An employee from the dealership informed them that a male had entered the business, taken the keys to the vehicle, and driven off without permission. The individual later returned the vehicle to the dealership and walked away.
THEFT
- A resident called police at 2:56 p.m. Feb. 18, to report that while attempting to exit the parking lot of a business in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard, they were approached by a female who proceeded to ask nonsensical questions. While the resident was speaking with the female, an unknown male approached the vehicle on the passenger side, opened the door and removed the cell phone, wallet with credit cards, gift cards and cash. The credit cards were later used at Northbrook Court.
- A resident in the 200 block of Lincoln Street reported at 2:09 p.m. Feb. 20, an unknown male stole four Apple iPhones that were supposed to be delivered by FedEx. They related the male approached the FedEx driver in an unknown Walgreens parking lot and showed an ID card with their name on it. The FedEx driver then turned over the phones to the suspect. Total loss $3,600.
- A resident in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road reported on Feb. 24 that they had met someone on Tinder on Jan. 15. The person missed their date and sent the resident a check for $4,750.78 and told them to keep it for now. Shortly after, they told the resident to send $2,500 to someone through Paypal and $1,250 to another person through Venmo. The bank then reported the check was fraudulent and they were able to recover the Paypal transaction, but not the Venmo. The resident contacted the Venmo recipient, who said they were also a victim of the scam and lost $9,000, with their Venmo account being locked out. That person filed a report with their local police department as well. Total loss is $1,250.
RETAIL THEFT
- Employees for a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 12:31 p.m. Feb. 20, a Chicago resident stole three bottles of alcohol from the store, valued at $214.65. All items were recovered, and the person was issued a village ordinance ticket for theft.
- An employee of a business in the 0 block of Waukegan Road reported at 5:15 p.m. Feb. 21, a black female stole around four bottles of alcohol and left the area. The female left in a black Tesla which was drove by someone else. Total loss around $100.
- An employee at a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported that at 12:45 p.m. Feb. 22, a Hispanic male entered the store and took a reusable shopping bag out of his jacket, which he then loaded with multiple bottles of Oil of Olay beauty creams, valued at $404. The male left the store, passing the last point of purchase,without paying for the items and entered the passenger side of a small black SUV that was parked in the lot.
- Employees of a business in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 6:12 p.m. Feb. 23, to report a male had loaded exercise equipment boxes and a stroller into a cart and passed the last point of purchase without paying for the items. Employees tried to stop him outside the store, but he loaded the boxes into a black Honda Odyssey and left the scene. Total loss is $1,794.37.
BATTERY
- A Mount Prospect resident reported at 9:10 a.m. Feb. 23, that while at a business in the 3800 block of Willow Road, they were battered by another person during a basketball game.
- Employees for a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 5:33 p.m. Feb. 24, a disturbance. Officers spoke with a Des Plaines resident who said they got into a physical altercation with their friend, also a Des Plaines resident, over the use of a cell phone. One person was taken to Glenbrook Hospital due to their high level of intoxication.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
An employee of a business in the 200 block of Waukegan Road reported at 5:41 a.m. Feb. 24, the showroom glass door was found broken and a vehicle stolen from the floor. There had been an alarm activation at 4 a.m. A second vehicle was taken from the lot, where those involved broke the gate open with the vehicle.
TRESPASS WARNING
- An employee for a business in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 9 p.m. Feb. 24, to report a male sitting in the lobby, loitering. It appeared the male had taken a shower in the bathroom due to water being all over the floor. The male left the lobby, walking northbound on Milwaukee Ave. The male was a previous guest. The hotel wanted him to be given a trespass warning, but they were unable to locate him.
- Employees for a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported at 4:01 p.m. Feb. 13, a homeless person was outside the store harassing customers for money. Officers spoke with the person and gave them a trespass warning not to return as requested by the store. They were taken to the Glenview train station.
TRESPASSING
Employees for a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 10:26 p.m. Feb. 24, to report someone in their lobby making coffee. The person was on their "do not rent" list. Employees wanted them to leave the property. The person requested a ride to the train station, which officers provided. They were given a trespass warning not to return to the business.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
An employee of a business in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 3:53 p.m. Feb. 14, a patient came into the clinic and was causing disturbance after his medical history was disclosed to someone else. The employee advised the records were sent to the email address listed on file. The person appeared to be intoxicated and was given a trespass warning. They left the business without incident.
FRAUD
A Bennington Court resident reported at 7:17 p.m. Feb. 11, being the victim of an online scam while attempting to buy a kitten online through a website. The person sent $350 deposit through Apple Pay and agreed to pick up the cat in Dallas. The seller made excuses for not showing up and would not issue a refund. Total loss is $350.
UNWANTED PERSON
Employees for a business in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 7:04 p.m. Feb. 13, to report a male customer yelling at staff. The person had entered the restaurant and began taking large quantities of silverware and napkins without making a purchase. When staff told them to stop, the person began yelling at them and causing a disturbance. They left when told they were calling the police. The person was gone prior to police arrival, and the store would like them given a trespass notice if identified.
DISPUTE
An employee for a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road called police at 5:52 p.m. Feb. 13, to report another employee came into the office and began yelling and throwing things around. They were upset about another Jewel store employee. They got into a verbal argument with them over another store employee and then suspended them, saying they could not come back to the business until further notice. They said they understood and left.
