'Person Of Interest' In Custody Following Glenview Kidnapping Attempt

A man attempted to abduct a female student Monday afternoon at her bus stop, according to police.

GLENVIEW, IL — A "person of interest" is in custody following a Monday afternoon kidnapping attempt of a student at their bus stop. Glenview police made the announcement Tuesday, nearly 24 hours following the incident in the area of Milwaukee Avenue and Kennicott Lane.

Police said no further details are available and the incident continues to be investigated.

According to police, a man attempted to kidnap the female student after she exited her school bus at around 3:41 p.m. Monday.

The student got off the bus when the unknown man grabbed her and the two fell to the ground. Police said the girl struck the man and he ran away from the scene. He was last seen entering an SUV-style vehicle and fleeing south on Milwaukee Avenue.

The student was not injured during the incident.
