POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

David Gordon, 51, of the 3700 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, is accused of possession of a controlled substance, operating a vehicle with an expired registration, and was arrested at 1:11 a.m. Jan. 7, in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue. Gordon was released and assigned a court date.

INCIDENTS

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 2500 block reported on Jan. 3 that at 6:20 p.m. Dec. 30, two males entered the store and stole liquor. The offenders left in an unknown vehicle.
  • An employee of a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 5:18 p.m. Jan. 6, to report a female offender placed over-the-counter medication into her purse and exited the store without paying.
  • An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 4:57 p.m. Jan. 6, a known prior female offender, entered the store, gathered merchandise into a shopping cart and left the store without paying for the items.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road called police at 12:36 p.m. Jan. 3, to report that during the overnight hours, someone entered their vehicle and stole a plow controller from the center console. The passenger side window of the truck was shattered.
  • A resident in the 3400 block of West Lake Avenue reported that between Jan. 4 and Jan. 5, someone broke the passenger side window, with an unknown hard object, on their vehicle and stole a plow controller.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A resident in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road reported on Jan. 3 that in October, they received an alert from a credit monitoring service advising an unknown offender opened a Discover Student Loan using their identifying information.
  • A Vantage Lane called police on Jan. 5 to report that on Nov. 30, someone used their personal information to redeem American Airline miles.
  • A Brook Lane resident reported at 3:03 p.m. Jan. 6, reported someone used their personal identifying information to apply for a student loan (aggravated identity theft). The loan was denied and there was no loss.

FORGERY

A Fielding Drive resident called police at 1:07 p.m. Jan. 3, to report someone stole a check they mailed at the Glenview Post Office and cashed it.

BURGLARY

A resident in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported that between Dec. 30 and Jan. 3, someone cut the lock to their storage unit. Entry was not gained into the unit, and nothing was missing.

THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 3:14 p.m. Jan. 3, to report a group of patrons ate food and left the restaurant without paying their bill.
  • An employee of a business in the 1700 block of Glenview Road reported at 6:15 p.m. Jan. 3, an unknown male entered the store and stole another customer's pickup order.

STOLEN VEHICLE

A Henley Street called police at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 5, to report their vehicle stolen from a parking lot in the 1800 block of Pickwick Lane.

SPEEDING

A resident was cited at 9:54 p.m. Jan. 5, for speeding (26 to 35 mph over the speed limit) after a traffic stop in the 1200 block of East Lake Avenue.

BURGLARY

  • An employee of a business in the 2800 block of Old Willow Road reported at 2:27 a.m. Jan. 7, five male offenders dressed in all black exited a vehicle, kicked in a garage door and searched around the business. The subjects took tools and cigars from the business.
  • Police responded to an alarm at 2:26 a.m. Jan. 8, at a business in the 500 block of Milwaukee Avenue and found a shattered front glass door. Officers cleared the business and no offenders remained on scene. The business said bottles of alcohol appeared to be missing.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

A resident called police at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 8, to report someone shattered the driver's side rear window on their vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot in the 3800 block of Willow Road and stole a handbag from inside the car.
