Police Respond After Motorist Snaps Photo, Customers Touch Employees Inappropriately: Glenview Crime Reports

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and includes both incidents reported by the public and arrests made by police. At 8:43 a.m. on July 19, an employee in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road reported someone entered onto the property and damaged an overhead garage door for a reported loss of $50.
THEFT

At 10:12 a.m. on July 19, a landscape company employee working in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road reported someone stole a backpack leaf blower worth $500.
ASSAULT
A customer at a business in the 2000 block of Johns Drive was causing a disturbance and made threats to an employee on July 19 at 11:16 a.m., police were told.
BATTERY
An employee in the 1700 block of Glenview Road reported being touched in an inappropriate manner at 5:24 p.m. on July 19.
BATTERY
An employee in the 900 block of Waukegan Road reported being slapped by another person at 6:22 p.m. on July 19.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY
An elderly delivery driver in the 3600 block of West Lake Avenue reported someone struck him with the door of his truck at 1:50 p.m. on July 20.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 200 block of Princeton Lane reported on July 20 that someone had placed $3,800 in fraudulent charges on their credit card.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone reportedly broke a rear window of a house in the 2600 block of Independence Avenue. The damage, estimated at $1,000, was reported shortly after 8 a.m. on July 21.
THEFT
At 12:30 p.m. on July 21, a resident in the 1200 block of Linden Lane reported someone took $5,000 worth of jewelry from their home.
FORGERY
Someone used a counterfeit $100 bill to make a purchase at a business in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road, police were told on July 22 at 1:22 p.m.
THEFT
At 2:40 p.m. on July 22, police were told someone removed mail from a mailbox in the 1900 block of Burr Oak Drive for a reported loss of $1.
IDENTITY THEFT
At 7:22 p.m. on July 22, a resident of the 1700 block of Pickwick Lane reported someone used their personal information to apply for credit from an out-of-state car dealership. There was no reported loss.
DISPUTE
A motorist in the 2000 block of Valley Lo Lane reported another driver confronted them and
took their picture with a phone shortly after 8 p.m. on July 22.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
An employee in the 3400 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported a customer was swearing and acting belligerently at 11:27 p.m. on July 22.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Two customers were arguing outside a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue, an employee reported at 11:28 a.m. on July 22.
INTOXICATED PERSON
A patron at a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue was highly intoxicated and belligerent towards other customers, an employee reported at 12:47 a.m. on July 23.
THEFT
A resident in the 2200 block of Larkdale Drive reported shortly before 4 p.m. on July 23 that an unsecured bicycle outside their house was stolen for a reported loss of $450.
TRESPASS
A resident in the 3000 block of Landwehr Road reported someone was on their property without permission at 7:31 p.m. on July 23.
THEFT
A resident in the 700 block of Arbor Lane reported shortly before 11 p.m. on July 24 that someone took a phone and credit cards from their house for a reported loss of $700.
ARRESTS
DUI
Tammy Plutz, 44, of the 900 block of Buccaneer Drive, was arrested in the block of her residence around 1 a.m. on July 20 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said she was unconscious due to her use of alcohol and will book and process her upon her release from the hospital.
RETAIL THEFT
A 44-year-old Chicago man was arrested in the 2200 block of Willow Road at 7 p.m. on July 20 and charged with Retail Theft after allegedly stealing $34.50 worth of merchandise.
DOMESTIC BATTERY
Vincent Griffin, 38, of the 11600 block of South Western Avenue in Chicago, was charged with domestic battery in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 2:46 a.m. on July 23.
VIOLATION OF AN ORDER OF PROTECTION
Peter Nelson, 31, of the 1600 block of Waukegan Road in Glenview, was charged with violation of an order of protection at 2:30 p.m. on July 23 in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road.
