GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

INCIDENTS

ILLEGAL DUMPING
Someone dumped oil and vehicle parts into a dumpster at Community Park West, 1001 Milwaukee Ave., on May 29 in violation of village rules.

SHOPLIFTING

  • Police were called to a store in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road around 1:15 p.m. on May 28 for a report that a female shoplifter had been seen stealing clothes from the store. When an employee confronted her, the woman dropped the clothes and fled the area. Officers identified the woman based on her license plate, contacted her and warned her she faces a criminal trespassing charge if she returned to the store.
  • Staff at a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road reported on May 29 that a woman had stolen lipstick worth $100 at around 8:40 p.m.

FORGERY

  • A Glenview resident reported on May 29 that a check they had mailed to their credit card company had been altered and cashed against their account. The check was cashed at a bank in Homewood for a loss of nearly $2,500.
  • A resident in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road reported someone had forged a check used a mobile bank application to withdraw money for a loss of $1,500.

CAR BURGLARIES

  • Someone stole a GPS unit, and old phone and cash from inside an unlocked car parked in the 100 block of Ardmore Street between 6 p.m. on June 3 and 7:15 a.m. on June 4 for a loss of $80.
  • Between 6 p.m. on June 3 and 8 a.m. on June 4, someone stole money from inside an unlocked car parked in the 2100 block of Henley Street for a loss of $1,500.
  • Someone stole tools worth more than $9,200 between 6 p.m. on June 3 and 8 a.m. on June 4 from inside an unlocked car parked in the 2100 block of Henley Street
  • A customer parked outside a business in the 400 block of Glenview Road reported someone stole a GPS unit and charger from inside their locked car between 7:30 p.m. on June 3 and noon on June 4 for a loss of $340.
  • A delivery driver reported around on June 13 that someone had entered their car between 3 and 3:15 p.m. while it was left unlocked and running during a delivery in the 800 block of East Glenwood Road, stealing a wallet with cash and cards inside for an $80 loss.

BAD CHECKS

  • An employee of a business in the 2000 block of Chestnut Avenue reported around 7 p.m. on June 4 that the company had gotten a $2,600 check from a customer, who claimed to have overpaid to cover transportation costs. The customer was wired "refunds" before the employee realized it was a scam. The reported loss was $1,568.
  • A resident in the 100 block of Lincoln Street reported around 4:45 p.m. on June 13 that someone had paid for rental space with a bad check for a loss of $2,800.

HOME/COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES

  • A resident in the 2500 block of Fontana Drive reported around 7 p.m. on June 5 that someone stole an iPad from a kitchen counter for a loss of $420.
  • A resident in the 2800 block of Commons Drive reported around 2 p.m. on June 8 that someone had broken into their house by damaging a door for a loss of $200.
  • Someone tried to break into a home in the 3900 block of Brett Lane, a resident reported around 10:30 p.m. on June 8. The screen remained intact and the reported loss was $500.
  • Officers responding to a residential alarm in the 3200 block of Thornwood Avenue around 10:15 p.m. on June 15 discovered pry marks a home's back door. The estimated cost to repair the damage was $250.
  • Officers dispatched around 2 a.m. on June 5 to an activated burglar alarm at a business in the 1200 block of Waukegan Road found the front door had been damaged and cigarettes and a cash register were missing for a reported loss of $700.

TRESPASSING

  • An employee of a business in the 3800 block of Willow Road reported that someone had left a derogatory note on their car between 4 and 8 p.m. on May 30 about how they had been parked. Then between 4 and 8 p.m. on May 31, someone dumped cereal through an open sunroof and pulled out the car's ashtray while it was parked outside the business.
  • An employee at a store in the 1000 block of Waukegan Road reported around 12:15 p.m. on June 6 that there were two men he recognized from a previous shoplifting incident inside the store. Officers arrived and gave the men a trespassing warning.
  • An employee in the 3900 block of Glenview Road reported around 7 p.m. on June 6 that there was a pair of youths on the roof of a building. They later fled the area.
  • Staff at a motel in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 1:30 p.m. on June 7 that a guest from the previous night was refusing to leave after they were denied a room due to a disturbance. Officers warned the person not to return and they left in a taxi.
  • An employee in the 2200 block of Fir Street reported around 10:30 p.m. on June 10 that someone had been on the premises without permission.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • An employee reported at 2:45 p.m. on June 6 that a window had been broken in the woman’s bathroom in a fieldhouse in the 700 block of Huber Lane. A baseball was found inside on the floor in the bathroom once the glass was cleaned up. There was loss estimated.
  • Someone threw a rock through a bedroom window in the 1800 block of Linneman Street prior to 8:15 p.m. on June 10 for a loss of $250.
  • 19-29297 Criminal Damage to State Supported Property
    On 06/16/2019, at 0011 hours,
  • Officers discovered damage to a women's backroom around 12:11 a.m. on June 16 during a check of the Cole Park Field House at 1031 Kenilworth Lane. A toilet paper dispenser was also damaged in the men’s bathroom for a combined loss of $20.
    On 06/17/19 at 1533 hours,
  • A patron of a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 3:30 p.m. on June 17 that he had parked his vehicle in the parking lot around 9 p.m. on June 16 and found the driver's side window cracked around noon on June 17 for a reported loss of $250.

THEFTS

  • A Glenview resident reported on May 30 that someone had stolen camera equipment from an unspecified location, suspecting that it was contractors who had been hired to work inside their home. The reported loss was more than $1,000.
  • An employee in the 2500 block of Chestnut Avenue reported around 7:30 p.m. on June 5 that someone stole a wallet from their workplace and used the credit cards inside at several unspecified stores. The reported loss was $150.
  • A resident walking near Pfingsten Road and Knollwood Lane reported around 3:45 p.m. on June 6 that two youths on bikes had stopped at a home in the 3700 block of Knollwood Lane and taken an unlocked, unattended bike from a front yard. When the resident shouted at the youths, they dropped the bikes and ran away.
  • An employer of a business in the 1600 block of Pleasant Lane reported around 9:45 a.m. on June 12 that an employee had stolen $3,000 in cash instead of depositing it into a bank.
  • A customer in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported shortly before 4 p.m. on June 11 that they had left a necklace on a table at the store and forgot it as they left for a loss of $3,000.
  • A resident in the 100 block of Park Lane reported around 11:30 a.m. on June 9 that they had found their already opened mail lying on the ground next to their mailbox.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • A resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported on May 31 that a maintenance worker had made lewd comments. The incident was reported to the building association.
  • A resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported at 4:19 p.m. on June 6 that someone was video recording them at an unspecified time and place.
  • An employee at a business in the 800 block of Waukegan Road reported around 12:30 p.m. on June 6 that a customer had threatened to go home and get a gun because he was "unhappy with the service." Officers warned the man he could be prosecuted for trespassing should he return to the business.
  • A bus driver in the 1800 block of Golf Road reported at 6:45 p.m. on June 14 that a passenger had created a disturbance on the bus by threatening and insulting another passenger. Officers asked the disturbing passenger to take another bus.

IDENTITY THEFTS

  • A Heatherfield Lane resident reported on June 7 that someone used their credit card without permission from November 2018 to May 2019 for a $2,000 loss.
  • A Canterbury Lane resident reported on June 11 that they had gotten 14 credit card notices after someone made unauthorized use of their identity. There was no loss reported.

BATTERIES

  • An employee in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 9:45 p.m. on June 12 that there was a fight in a first-floor hallway. No one wished to press charges.
  • A motorist in the 2000 block of Spruce Drive reported shortly after 5 p.m. on June 12 that they had been struck in the hand during a road rage incident. No one wished to press charges.
  • An employee at Glenbrook Hospital, 2100 Pfingsten Road, reported around 12:30 p.m. on June 15 that they had been punched in the chest while trying to treat a patient. No one wished to press charges.

ARSON
The owner of a home in the 1900 block of Queens Lane reported at 9 a.m. on June 9 that they discovered a portable toilet on a construction site had been damaged by an explosion for a reported loss of $175.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Arrielle Tripp, 19, of the 5800 block of North Glenwood Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 10 p.m. on May 31 in the 700 block of Harms Road and charged with battery.

A 19-year-old Mundelein man was arrested around 1 a.m. on June 1 in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with underage consumption of alcohol and issued citations for illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage, driver's license not on person and failure to signal when required.

Adilsaikhan Tumur, 46, of the 3400 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, was arrested around 1:15 a.m. on June 2 and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident following an investigation into a hit and run crash that occurred around 6:30 p.m. on June 1 at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Salem Walk. Tumur was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.

Richard Vallejo, 48, of the 1800 block of South Boulevard, Evanston, was arrested around 3 a.m. on June 2 following a traffic stop in the are of East Lake Avenue and Harms Road. Vallejo was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license. He was issued citations for improper lane usage and speeding 26 to 36 mph above the limit.

Yadamkhuu Narangerel, 34, of the 9100 block of North Lincoln Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested around 4 a.m. on June 2 in the 8800 block of Golf Rd. and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and ticketed for speeding between 15 and 20 mph above the limit.

Steven Morton, 44, of the 9200 block of North Maryland Street, Niles, was arrested around 8 p.m. on June 2 on an active Cook County warrant. He was also charged with forgery and theft in connection with a June 1 incident at Glenview State Bank.

Herve Mompoint, 37, of the 1700 bock of Greenwood Road, Glenview, was arrested at 9:45 a.m. on June 3 at the Glenview Police Department on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in DuPage County court and also charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to give information. He was also issued citations for no proof of insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.

Jeannine Marran, 50, of the 600 block of Ridge Road, Wilmette, was arrested around 9:30 a.m. on June 3 at Target, 2241 Willow Road, and charged with retail theft.

A 38-year-old Glenview man was arrested around 2 p.m. on June 4 in the 3700 block of Willow Road by officers investigating a traffic crash and charged with driving without a valid driver’s license.

Nelson Negron-Rivera, 51, of the 600 block of Piper Lane, Prospect Heights, was arrested at 8:10 p.m. on June 5 at the Prospect Heights Police Department on an outstanding warrant from Glenview on a charge of driving on a revoked license.

An 18-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested around 10:45 p.m. on June 6 and charged with with reckless driving, and cited for following too closely and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following an investigation into a traffic crash in the are of West Lake Avenue and Shermer Road.

A 23-year-old Chicago woman was charged with driving with a suspended license and ticketed for not having a front license plate following a traffic stop around 4:30 p.m. on June 12 in the 1000 block of Milwaukee Avenue by officers investigating a report that someone had used counterfeit currency to buy a car.

Rachel Burns, 24, of the 300 block of Harlem Avenue, Glenview, was arrested around 3:15 p.m. on June 14 and charged with retail theft in connection with the May 29 theft of $181.56 worth of merchandise from a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road.

Sataya Friar, 24, of the 800 block of Lincoln Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested around 5 p.m. on June 14 in the 1900 block of Tower Drive and charged with retail theft, two counts of battery and also cited for unauthorized use of a handicap parking space.

Esther A. Chappell, 21, of the 2800 block of Highland Boulevard in Milwaukee, was arrested around 9 p.m. on June 15 in the 2800 block of Landwehr Road and charged with domestic battery.

Jillian A. Vocke, 35, of the 1100 block of Greenleaf Avenue, Wilmette, was arrested at 10:45 p.m. on June 15 in the 2500 block of East Lake Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater. She was also issued citations for speeding and illegal transportation of alcohol.

Patrick Sylvester, 54, of the 800 block of Wagner Court, Glenview, was arrested around shortly after 10 p.m. on June 16 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater. He was also issued citations for improper lane usage and speeding.
