Presence Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Awarded Accreditation by The Joint Commission
Nursing Home receives national accreditation

Presence Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (1700 East Lake Street, Glenview) announced that the facility has for the second time been awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Nursing Care Center Accreditation. The Gold Seal of Approval® recognizes Presence Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center’s demonstration of continuous compliance with The Joint Commission’s performance standards to provide safe and effective patient and resident care. Established in 1966, The Joint Commission’s Nursing Care Center Accreditation Program accredits more than 1,000 organizations that offer nursing home and other long term care services
In addition, for the first time Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center received The Joint Commission’s prestigious Post-Acute Care and Memory Care Certifications that became available in 2014. Post-Acute Care Certification is given to nursing centers that provide effective care transitions with the goal of minimizing the risk of unnecessary hospitalizations. Memory Care Certification requirements build upon the Nursing Care Center accreditation requirements and recognized the center’s competency in dementia care services providing an organized approach to the care, treatment and services provided to the special patient population.
Recently, Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center underwent a rigorous on-site survey by Joint Commission expert surveyors. The surveyors evaluated compliance with nursing care center standards related to several areas including assistance with activities of daily living, coordination of care and staff education and training. On-site observations and interviews with Presence Maryhaven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center leaders and staff were also conducted by surveyors.
