Racist Snapchat Video Keeps High School Students At Home
A video with "unacceptable racial content" featured Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South students, principals of both high schools said.

GLENVIEW, IL — Three students from Glenbrook Glenbrook North and Glenbrook South high schools featured in a video posted on social media Sunday night, according to an email to the school community by the principals of both District 225 schools.
The video contained "inappropriate and unacceptable racial content," according to the message from John Finan of Glenbrook North, and Lauren Fagel, of Glenbrook South.
The trio did not attend school on Monday, according to the message.

"Because we consider messages of this type to be threatening and offensive to members of our school community, steps are being taken to increase security awareness on the high school campuses," the principals said.
School officials at both high schools reported the incident to the Northbrook and Glenview police departments, according to the principals. The video has been circulated among students in both schools and communities in the area.

A Glenview police spokesman said Monday the department had no active investigation into the video. A Northbrook police spokesman had not responded to a request for comment as of Monday evening. Officials told Pioneer Press they were unsure if any criminal charges would be filed or what discipline may be in store for the students involved recording and dissemination of the Snapchat video.
"We encourage anyone who has information regarding this video to contact either police department directly or the Dean’s Office at either high school," the principals said.
