GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
FORGERIES
- Someone forged and cashed $16,400 worth of checks stolen from a Glenlake Drive resident prior to Jan. 28.
- Three forged personal checks totaling $26,000 were cashed at an out-of-state bank against the account of a Saratoga Lane resident prior to Jan. 31.
PACKAGE THEFT
An employee in the 2300 block of Chestnut Avenue reported around 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 22 that a woman came into the lobby of the building, ripped open several packages that had been delivered there and stole an unspecified item for a reported loss of $10.

GIFT CARD SCAM
An employee in the 800 block of Waukegan Road reported on Jan. 23 that they had been scammed out of $2,000 by an unidentified man purporting to be an agent of the Drug Enforcement Administration. The scammer told the employee there was an active warrant for their arrest and demanded the numbers from gift cards to clear it.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
An employee in the 1900 block of Landwehr Road reported around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 27 that someone was looking into the windows of school buses.

IDENTITY THEFT
Someone ordered two iPads worth $2,500 using the identity of a Henley Street resident prior to Jan. 28.
CHECK SCAM
A Plymouth Lane resident reported on the morning of Jan. 30 that they responded to a Facebook ad for a freelance photographer. The person who responded sent them a check in excess of the price, and the bank later notified the resident the check was fraudulent, leading to a $500 loss.
EMAIL SCAM
A Parker Drive resident reported on the morning of Jan. 31 that they had been scammed out of $400 by an email requesting money that appeared to have come from a friend.
GARAGE BURGLARY
A resident in the 600 block of York Road reported around 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 31 that someone had gotten into their garage and two parked cars during the previous night for a loss of $20.
SHOPLIFTING
- An employee of an unspecified business in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported around 1:15 p.m. on Jan. 30 that two male shoplifters came into the store and stole about $1,000 worth of athletic gear from inside.
- An employee of an unspecified business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 31 that someone someone stole a bottle of alcohol of unknown value.
- Staff at an unspecified business in the 100 block of Waukegan Road reported around 6:45 p.m. on Feb. 2 that someone stole a $5 soft drink.
THEFTS
- A resident in the 4500 block of Concord Lane reported around 2:15 p.m. on Jan. 23 that someone stole $65 from their purse.
- A customer in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported around 4 p.m. on Jan. 24 that someone had stolen a $300 phone mailed from the business.
- Another customer at an unspecified business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported around 5 p.m. on Jan. 24 that someone stole their wallet as they tried to pay for groceries for a reported loss of $60.
- An employee of an unspecified business in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported around 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 27 that a customer had loaded money onto a gift card but never deposited cash in the register for a $60 loss.
- Someone stole two chrome lug nut covers worth $240 from a car parked in the parking lot of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road prior to 11:30 a.m., a customer told police.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
- Someone broke a second-floor window on a home in the 3700 block of Greenleaf Avenue around 8 a.m. on Jan. 23 for a loss of $50.
- Gang graffiti was discovered around 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 23 on an east door of a business in the 3400 block of Thornwood Drive, causing $200 in damage.
- A resident in the 900 block of Rolling Pass reported around 9 a.m. on Jan. 26 that someone had broken a window on their car parked on the street for a loss of $250.
- Someone spray painted a red "X" on four trees in the 1800 block of Glenview Road, an employee reported around 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 31.
- A patron of a business in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 9 a.m. on Feb. 3 that someone had thrown rocks at their windshield and rear window.
- An employee of a business in the 3800 block of Willow Road reported someone broke a window on a parked vehicle between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., causing $150 in damage.
CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone stole a set of keys from inside an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 1700 block of West Ridgewood Lane prior to about 3 p.m. on Jan. 21.
- A resident in the 800 block of Clover Court reported around 4:15 p.m. on Jan. 23 that someone had entered their unlocked parked car and scattered the contents of its glove box around the front seat and floor and stealing $45 worth of property.
- Someone stole an iPhone and an I-Pass from inside a car left unlocked in a driveway in the 900 block of Juniper Road prior to 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 21.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Brandon April, 34, of the 2900 block of Concord Lane, Wadsworth, was arrested around 4 p.m. on Jan. 24 in the 100 block of 3 Lakes Drive in Northfield after a hit and run crash investigation in the 2000 block of Shermer Road. April was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol — third offense, driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and driving with a revoked license. He was also issued operating an uninsured vehicle, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash citations.
Ravi Joshi, 39, of the 4100 block of Florence Way, Glenview, was arrested around 7 p.m. on Jan. 25 after an investigation into a crash in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and issued an illegal transportation of alcohol citation.
Christopher Moss, 40, of the 1100 block of McAllister Avenue, North Chicago, was arrested around 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 29 at his home and charged with three counts of forgery in connection with a Dec. 9, 2019, report of stolen checks in the 1800 block of Waterbury Circle.
Valon Zhubi, 39, of the 1200 block of Waukegan Road, Glenview, and Carl Caples, 49, of the 6100 block of South Damen Avenue, Chicago were arrested on Jan. 30 on in-state arrest warrants revealed after police were dispatched to a report of a stabbing and a barricaded suspect. Read more...
Dan Barr, 52, of the 2400 block of Greenview Road, Northbrook, was arrested around 6:15 p.m. on Jan. 30 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following an investigation into a traffic crash in the 1900 block of Willow Road. He was also issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash.
Amelia Arnieri, 62, of the 5200 block of West Arcadia Street, Skokie, was arrested around 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 30 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident following an investigation into a traffic crash in the 1500 block of East Lake Avenue.
A 20-year-old Broadview woman was arrested around 8:45 p.m. on Feb. 1 and charged with driving without a valid license following a traffic stop on the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was also issued citations for operating an uninsured vehicle and speeding.
