Service For Whitey O'Day Will Be Live Streamed On YouTube
The Glenview New Church YouTube channel will live stream the memorial service for legendary Irish folk singer Whitey O'Day.

GLENVIEW, IL — The memorial service for Whitey O'Day, the legendary Chicagoland Irish folk music singer who died at age 76 last month, will be held on Thursday, May 17 in Glenview. Those who won't be able to attend have the option to follow the service live online.
Glenview New Church will have the live stream available on their YouTube channel about 15 minutes before it begins at 5 p.m. Video of the service will also be saved on the church's YouTube channel after it ends for anyone interested in viewing it afterwards.
O'Day was an Irish music genius who appeared at pubs and restaurant throughout the city and suburbs. He grew up in the Glenbrook area and lived in Buffalo Grove before he died on April 21. Reilly's Daughter in south suburban Oak Lawn was his "home base" on the South Side, where the large population of Irish Americans grew to love him as their own.
