Skokie Man Stole Over $5,000 In 3 Glenview Burglaries: Police
Already on parole for home burglary, the 46-year-old is charged with breaking into 3 homes and stealing jewelry this month.

SKOKIE, IL — Glenview police investigating a series of home burglaries earlier this month arrested and charged a Skokie parolee with a previous conviction tied to the largest haul of stolen property in Evanston police history. Rengay Frazier, 46, of the 7800 block of North Crawford Avenue, Skokie, was arrested at his home Nov. 16, police said. He now faces three counts of residential burglary in connection with a trio of incidents reported earlier this month.
The first two of the recent Glenview burglaries with which Frazier has been charged were reported between 8 and 8:40 p.m. on Nov. 13, police said. More than $3,000 was reported stolen from two homes that night.
In the third case, reported on Nov. 14 at 7:38 p.m., he's accused of forcing open a side door to burglarize a home and stealing another $2,000 worth of jewelry, according to Glenview Police Sgt. James Foley.

In that case, Evanston police happened upon the stolen goods, which they said had been taken during home burglaries in Evanston, Morton Grove, Skokie and Wilmette over the course of months, while executing a warrant to search for drugs. They also found some cocaine and marijuana, the Chicago Tribune reported. Frazier, a former Haven Middle School janitor, was sentenced to three years in prison in 2009 after pleading guilty to theft, gun and drug charges, the Daily Northwestern reported.
Court records show at the time of his arrest this month Frazier was on parole after another conviction of residential burglary related to a March 2013 residential burglary conviction.
Frazier was ordered held at Cook County Jail without bond ahead of a Dec. 4 court appearance, according to the Cook County sheriff's office on Monday.
