Snapchat Nude Photo Exchanges End In Threats: Glenview Police Blotter
Several residents were threatened with intimidation after sending nude photos on the app, according to police.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
ARRESTS

- Christian Plata-Martinez, 21, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage, and was arrested at 12:10 a.m. July 23, following a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Topp Lane. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 18.
- Arturo Barrera, 19, of the 4100 block of Williamsburg Court, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, speeding, and was arrested at 7:53 p.m. July 20, in the 10000 block of Dearlove Road. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 15.
NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
Eldin M. Funez-Morales, 35, of Houston Texas is accused of having no valid driver's license, and was arrested at 7:58 p.m. July 23, following an investigation of an accident in the 4700 block of West Lake Avenue. He was released after posting an I-Bond and was assigned a court date of Aug. 31.

UNLAWFUL USE OF AN ELECTRONIC TRACKING DEVICE
Mohamed Abouelez, 21, of the 5600 block of Menard Avenue, Chicago, is accused of unlawful use of an electronic tracking device, and was arrested at 2:15 p.m. July 18, following the investigation of an incident from June 8 in the 3100 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was held for a bond hearing.
VIOLATION OF AN ORDER OF PROTECTION
Jason Braganza, 45, of the 900 block of Long Road, is accused of violation of order of protection, and was arrested at 10:19 a.m. July 19. He was held for a bond hearing.
FAILURE TO APPEAR
Zbigniew Kochanowski, 42, of the 1800 block of 22nd Street, Melrose Park, had an outstanding bond forfeiture warrant for failure to appear for his court date following an incident from May 30 in the 500 block of Chatham Road, and was arrested at 5:18 p.m. July 19. He was held for a bond hearing.

INCIDENTS
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
- A Glenview resident reported that between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. July 19, someone stole two pairs of prescription glasses from their unlockedvehicle while it was parked at a business in the 2900 block of Patriot Boulevard.
- A person called police at 2:07 p.m. July 19, to report someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 2100 block of Patriot Boulevard.
- A person reported that between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. July 19, someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 2100 block Patriot Boulevard.
- A Northbrook resident called police at 5:37 p.m. July 19, to report someone attempted to steal the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 4000 block of West Lake Avenue. The victim located a blue vehicle jack underneath their car and damage to the floor of the vehicle.
- A Glenview resident reported that between 5:25 a.m. and 5:55 p.m. July 19, someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 1100 block of Depot Street.
- An employee of a business in the 4300 block of Regency Drive called police to report that during the overnight hours of July 21, someone stole the catalytic converter from a box truck while it was parked in the lot.
- A resident in the 4600 block of Larch Avenue reported at 8:23 p.m. July 21, someone stole a paycheck from the front seat of their vehicle while it was parked in the driveway.
- A Chicago resident reported that between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. July 19, someone cut off the catalytic converter from their vehicle while parked in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue.
- A Winnetka resident called police to report that between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. July 23, someone stole their purse from their unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the 1400 block of Ammer Road.
- A business owner in the 4200 block of Commercial Way reported at 11:16 a.m. July 25, that at some time over the past three to four days, an unknown offender stole two catalytic converters from their vehicle while it was parked in their lot.
- A person called police to report that between Nov. 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022, someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked in the lot at a business in the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue.
THEFT
- A Prospect Heights resident reported at 12:28 a.m. July 20, someone stole their gym bag containing a coach wallet, $1,200 in cash, Apple Airpods, makeup, clothing, and a key from their unlocked locker at a business in the 3800 Willow Road.
- A resident in the 1800 block of Prairie Street called police to report that between July 20 and July 21, someone stole their charcoal Weber grill from the driveway.
- A Glenview resident reported at 5:07 p.m. July 22, they received a text from someone claiming to be a supervisor in the company they work for. The person asked them to buy several gift cards and give them the gift card numbers, which they did. They later learned this was a scam.
- A Glenview resident called police at 11:24 a.m. July 24, to report someone stole a ruby sapphire pendant, a 5 opal, 2 diamond ring, and $2,500 in cash, from the dresser in their master bedroom.
FORGERY
An employee of a business in the 3700 block of Willow Road called police at 6:50 p.m. July 20, to report someone faxed a fraudulent prescription for promethazine/codeine to the store. The employee contacted the doctor’s office and confirmed they did not have a patient by the name used.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A Des Plaines resident reported at 12:07 a.m. July 21, an employee of a business in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue threw a rock at their vehicle during a verbal altercation. Officers issued the employee a village ordinance citation for criminal damage to property.
INTIMIDATION
A Glenview resident called police at 1:07 p.m. July 21, to report they sent nude pictures to a subject
identified as “Emily” through Snapchat. The resident said “Emily” demanded the victim send
money or she would send the pictures to family members and other people in Glenview.
THREAT
A Glenview resident reported at 1:02 p.m. July 21, a female, identified as “Mari,” sent nude photos on Snapchat. The victim said an unknown male contacted them and threatened to send the cartel after them if they did not pay for the photos.
STOLEN VEHICLE
An employee of a business in the 2300 block of Waukegan Road called police at 4:04 p.m. July 21, to report someone rented a vehicle and did not return it.
RETAIL THEFT
- An employee of a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported at 1:47 p.m. July 21, someone stole a Dyson Cordless Vacuum. The total loss is $549.99.
- A manager of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive called police to report at 7 p.m. July 21, two males stole 14 golf clubs over the course of an hour, by placing the golf clubs down their pants.
UNLAWFUL USE OF A CREDIT CARD
A Glenview resident called police at 6:31 p.m. July 21, to report someone used their credit card at Amoco and McDonalds in Glenview.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICES
A Glenview resident reported at 7:36 p.m. July 21, they received a phone call from someone advised them to provide his credit card numbers in order to sign up for a form of Lifelock. The victim provided the subject with two credit card numbers.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO STATE SUPPORTED PROPERTY
Officers responded to a fire alarm at 9:23 p.m. July 21, at a building in the 2100 block of Central Road and discovered someone lit off fireworks and caused damage to the walls in the women’s restroom.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Glenview resident reported at 2:34 p.m. July 22, a male called them, claimed to be from Xfinity, and convinced them to give him access to their computer. The offender subsequently stole the victim’s data and $703 from their bank account.
ARSON
A person reported at 8:49 p.m. July 22, someone started a fire on the basketball court at the
playground at Monterey Drive and West Lake Avenue.
ASSAULT
A Glenview resident called police at 10:16 p.m. July 23, to report someone pulled a knife on them after a road rage incident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive.
HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS
A Glenview resident reported at 9:04 a.m. July 24, their ex-contractor sent them an unwanted text message after they severed their contract.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A Glenview resident called police at 6:40 p.m. July 24, to report a business owner of a garage door service company, threatened them over the phone after they left a one-star rating on Yelp.
POSSESSION OF CANNABIS
A Waukegan resident was cited at 2:52 a.m. July 25, for unlawful possession of cannabis by driver and speeding following a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Lake Avenue. They were released on an I-Bond with a court date of Sept. 7 assigned.
SPEEDING
A Glenview resident was cited at 7:58 p.m. July 25, for speeding 35 mph over the speed limit following a traffic stop in the 1200 block of East Lake Avenue. They were released after posting a bond with a court date Aug. 18 scheduled.
