GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Robert Reimann, 26, of the 700 block of 7th Street, Glenview, is accused of domestic battery, and was arrested at 10:16 p.m. June 21, in Glenview. He was held for a bond hearing.

  • Flavin Ciontos, 37, of the 3500 block of Olcott Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level over .08, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to signal when required, expired registration, and was arrested at 9:31 p.m. June 20, following a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Indigo Lane. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of July 13.
  • Justin N. Smith, 47, of the 8300 block of Perry Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, no insurance, failure to signal, and was arrested at 10:06 p.m. June 17, after a traffic stop in the 2300 block of East Lake Avenue. He was releases after posting a $1,000 bond and was assigned a future court date of July 13.
  • Chae Yi, 75, of the 3900 block of Crestwood Drive, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 7:56 p.m. June 15, following n investigation of a disabled auto in the 3900 block of Crestwood Drive. Yi was released after posting a $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of July 18.
  • Rocky Patel, 42, of the 8800 block of N. Elmore Street, Niles, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level over .08, and was arrested at 7:33 a.m. June 13, following an incident at a business in the 800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Patel was released after posting a $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of June 28.

WARRANT ARREST

Darwin Fletcher, 43, of the 6100 block of St. Lawrence Avenue, Chicago, had valid warrants from Des Moines County, Iowa, and was arrested during an investigation into a reported stolen vehicle. He was taken to the custody of the Cook County Sheriff.


INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

  • An employee of a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road reported that between the hours of 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. June 10, someone scratched the front windshield on their vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot.
  • A resident in the 2300 block of Mohawk Road called police at 8:49 p.m. June 15, to report the earlier in the night, someone damaged an animal cage in their backyard.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 300 block of Parkview Drive called police to report that during the overnight hours of June 14, someone stole a digital reader from their vehicle while it was parked in their driveway.
  • A business owner in the 2000 block of Johns Court reported that at 9:10 p.m. June 13, a former employee stole numerous tools from their vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A Glenview resident reported at 11:10 a.m. June 14, someone attempted to file a tax return using their identifying information.
  • A Glenview resident called police at 12:46 p.m. June 15, to report someone used their identifying information to open a Verizon account.
  • A Glenview resident reported at 3:32 p.m. June 20, someone used their identifying information to purchase an iPad Pro, valued at $1,399.99, through AT&T Wireless.

ATTEMPTED UNLAWFUL ACQUISITION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

An employee of a business in the 3700 block of Willow Road reported at 12:54 p.m. June 14, someone attempted to obtain a controlled substance online using a fraudulent prescription.

ATTEMPTED THEFT

A Glenview resident reported at 3:19 p.m. June 15, they received a text message from an
unknown person, who identified themselves as a colleague. The offender told the victim to
purchase four $200 Apple gift cards. The victim recognized this as a scam.

THEFT

A person called police at 8:37 p.m. June 15, to report someone stole their wallet after it was misplaced it at a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road.

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

An Elmwood Park resident was cited at 12:53 a.m. June 16, under the village ordinance for possession of cannabis under 10 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, following an investigation into a business alarm in the 2400 block of Waukegan Road.

FRAUD

A Glenview resident reported that on June 14, they contacted a number for Amazon customer service and spoke to an offender identified as Austin Spencer. Spencer advised the victim to purchase numerous gift cards and send the codes to him. The victim purchased $1,150 worth of gift cards and then realized it was a scam.

FORGERY

A Glenview resident reported at 3:26 p.m. June 16, receiving a forged check for $4,000 in relation to a jewelry sale on Paparazziaccessories.com.

SPEEDING

  • A Glenview resident was cited at 9:47 a.m. June 17, for speeding 26 mph over the posted limit after a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Patriot Boulevard. They were released after posting their driver’s license as bond. Court date is Aug. 8.
  • A Glenview resident was cited at 9:25 p.m. June 17, for speeding 26 mph over the posted limit, after a traffic stop in the 4600 block of West Lake Avenue. They were released after posting their driver’s license as bond. Court date is July 18.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE

A Kenosha, Wisconsin resident reported that between 2:30 p.m and 7:32 p.m. June 17, someone smashed out the rear passenger side window on their vehicle while it was parked in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION

A Glenview resident in the 1300 block of Cariann Lane called police at 7:02 a.m. June 18, to report a Groot garbage truck was in violation of the village ordinance by picking up garbage too early at Avoca West School, 235 Beech Drive.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO PROPERTY

An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported at 7:44 p.m. June 18, an unknown female was playing on the escalator. The unknown female left the store prior to police arrival.
