For children and adolescents experiencing grief and loss, there are often feelings of insecurity. If your child is reluctant to talk about their emotions, consider spending one-on-one time together engaging in activities that your child finds enjoyable. The purpose is not to attempt to erase the child's feelings of grief - because we all know this is impossible. Rather, the purpose is to provide your child with a sense of security during a difficult time.
Therapy is another great option, especially for children who feel they cannot grieve properly in front of their families. If your child is experiencing grief from a loss and you think they would benefit from a therapeutic connection, please feel free to contact our office at (847) 730-3042 to set up an appointment.
