AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

Stephen B. Karbowski, 58, of the 4500 block of Seminole Drive, Glenview, is accused of aggravated assault, violation of bail bond, and was arrested at 2:33 p.m. Oct. 6. He was processed and taken to a condition hearing at the Skokie Courthouse on Oct. 7.

Jill B. Chatterton, 59, of the 1200 block of Dell Road, Northbrook, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, illegal transportation of open alcohol, and was arrested at 12:54 p.m. Oct. 7, after an incident in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was released and assigned a court date of Nov. 27.

INCIDENTS

THEFT

  • A resident in the 1000 block of Burton Terrace reported at 11:43 a.m. Oct. 3, a cellular phone ordered and to be shipped to their home was picked up at the store by an unknown person.
  • A Greenwood Road resident reported at 3:27 p.m. Oct. 3, someone contacted them and posed as a friend. The offender told them they needed cash to get out of jail. After the resident transferred money, they realized it was a scam.

FORGERY

  • A Mary Kay Lane resident called police at 3:19 p.m. Oct. 3, to report a check mailed through the U.S. Post Office was intercepted in the mail and cashed to a different person for a different amount.
  • A West Lake Avenue resident reported at 1:24 p.m. Oct. 5, several checks mailed at the Glenview U.S. Post Office were intercepted in the mail and cashed to different people and for different amounts.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 2700 block of Pfignsten Road called police at 4:58 p.m. Oct. 3, to report a male stole a bottle of a liquor from the store, entered the passenger side of a sedan, and left the scene.
  • An employee of a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard called police on Oct. 4 to report a Sept. 24 incident where a female stole bottles of liquor, and loaves of bread from the store. The female exited the store, entered a gray minivan, and left the area.
  • An employee at a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 4:32 p.m. Oct. 8, a known customer stole electronic items from the store without paying for them.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

A Glendale Road resident called police at 6:45 p.m. Oct. 5, to report someone entered their parked vehicle, at Gallery Park, 2699 West Lake Ave., and stole personal items from the passenger seat.

RECKLESS DRIVING

A Northbrook resident was issued a village ordinance citation for reckless driving after an incident at 6:33 p.m. Oct. 6, in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

BURGLARY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

A Schererville, Indiana resident reported at 3:13 a.m. Oct. 7, someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked in a parking lot in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

TRESPASSING

A business in the 2300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 8:01 a.m. Oct. 9, a terminated employee refused to leave the property. The terminated employee left the premise prior to police arrival. Officers spoke with the terminated employee and gave them trespass notice at the request of employees.
