GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. THEFT

  • A resident in the 2200 block of Longmeadow Drive reported at 4:41 p.m. Feb. 5, someone stole a package off their porch that contained electric toothbrush replacements.
  • A resident in the 4700 block of West Lake Avenue reported at 2:23 p.m. Feb. 6, their wedding and engagement rings were stolen.
  • An employee for a business in the 2300 block of reported at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 8, someone entered an unlocked entrance to the facility and tried to gain access to a locked employee entrance. The unknown suspect then opened a fire suppression system box door and pressed the buttons. Once the suspect exited the building, they stole a shovel that was resting by the door.
  • An employee of a business in the 2800 block of Patriot Boulevard called police to report that between Jan. 2 and Jan. 13, someone stole a license plate from a vehicle.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

A resident called police at 12:51 p.m. Feb. 6, to report their purse was taken from their vehicle while they pumped gas at BP, 242 Waukegan Road.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

A Des Plaines resident called police at 8:10 a.m. Feb. 7, to report a male was outside of the Metra Station coffee shop pacing on the platform. The man picked up a rock and threw it at the window, causing one of the panes to crack and shatter. The offender admitted to throwing the rock at the building. He was issued a village ordinance ticket for criminal damage to property and released at the scene.

STOLEN VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported at 7:59 a.m. Feb. 7, their SUV was stolen overnight from the parking lot in front of their residence.
  • A Deerfield resident reported at 3:50 p.m. Feb. 11, their stolen vehicle was located in the 3800 block of Linneman Street. They advised police the vehicle had been stolen from a bar in Wheeling earlier in the day.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED/REVOKED LICENSE

A resident in the 10000 block of Dearlove Road was cited at 1:14 p.m. Feb. 7, for driving without a license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a crash investigation in the 2000 block of Waukegan Road. They were released on scene with a court date of March 13.

RETAIL THEFT

The loss prevention manager of a business in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard reported on Feb. 7 that on Feb. 1, two unknown females entered the business with a baby stroller and loaded it with L’Oreal and Olay beauty products. The females left the business without paying for the items.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Harlem Avenue resident reported at 10 a.m. Feb. 7, they noticed all their bank accounts had a zero balance. They spoke with bank representatives and learned a person by the name of “Enna” had zeroed out all the accounts. The victim does not recognize this name and is unsure how the accounts were compromised.

HARASSMENT

A human resources representative for a business in the 500 block of Harlem Avenue reported at 6:27 p.m. Feb. 8, an unknown customer sent a threatening e-mail to the business after they were upset about a purchase.

BURGLARY

  • A resident in the 2100 block of Glenview Road reported that during the overnight hours of Feb. 9, someone entered their unlocked vehicle while it was parked in their driveway. The offender removed the garage door remote and stole a bicycle from the detached garage.
  • A resident in the 2800 block of Parkside Circle reported that between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Feb. 9, three men wearing reflective green safety vests, face coverings, and red gloves, burglarized their home.
  • A resident in the 1900 block of East Burr Oak Drive called police to report that between 5:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Feb. 10, someone forced entry to the back door of their home. The offender had gone through drawers, cabinets and had disturbed items inside the home, but nothing was reported missing.

BATTERY

A Northbrook resident reported at 10:31 a.m. Feb. 10, they were battered by a resident in the 2300 block of Fir Street following an altercation that occurred in the 2400 block of Chestnut Avenue.

FORGERY

A resident int he 1800 block of Tanglewood Drive reported at 11:27 a.m. Feb. 12, someone cashed an intercepted check from their bank account in the amount of $4,900. They said they mailed the check, which was originally made out for $25, from the Glenview Post Office on Dec. 4.
