Two Lifeguards At Glenview Pool Diagnosed With Coronavirus
Update: The Flick Aquatic Center will remain closed through Monday with closure possibly extended.
GLENVIEW, IL — Less than two weeks after opening, Glenview's Flick Outdoor Aquatic Center is remaining shut down after two lifeguards were diagnosed with coronavirus. The Glenview Park District announced Friday that the pool will remain closed through Monday when "closures may be extended if necessary." An update will be provided to the public on that day.
The Glenview Park District does not believe any member of the public had "close contact" with the persons, as defined by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, but is closed the pool Friday.

- The first lifeguard worked from 5:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. July 1 and from 3:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Monday. That person spent the majority of the shifts in the lifeguard chair.
- The second lifeguard worked June 30 and Tuesday during in-service shifts, while the pool was closed to the public.
All staff members who have come into close contact with the lifeguards who tested positive for COVID-19 will be asked to self-quarantine for at least two weeks since the date of exposure, according to the district.

The district said it is sharing the information with the public "out of an abundance of caution." The names of the persons diagnosed are being withheld due to confidentiality laws, according to the district.
"We will be working with the CDC and IDPH regarding guidance, as well as deep cleaning and disinfecting of all surfaces and areas," the park district said in a statement.

The following safety protocols were also announced:
- Any staff member confirmed to have COVID-19 must receive two negative test results prior to returning to work.
- The entire facility will be fully sanitized and closed for deep cleaning and disinfection of all surfaces and areas.
- All information is being reported to Illinois Department of Public Health for guidance and contact tracing.
