GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

  • Marco Alanis, 36, of the 5100 block of W Cullom Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 3:26 p.m. Aug. 15, in the 3100 block of East Lake Avenue. He was released on a bond and assigned a court date of Sept. 7.
  • Irina Markhasin, 67, of the 1800 block of Westleigh Drive, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, and was arrested at 6:27 p.m. Aug. 10, in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road. She was released on bond and assigned a court date of Sept. 1.

VIOLATION OF STALKING ORDER

Patrick Kearney, 38, of the 600 block of Long Road, Glenview, is accused of violation of a stalking/no contact order, and was arrested at 8:40 a.m. Aug. 11, following an incident n Aug. 5. He was held awaiting a bond hearing.

INCIDENTS

POSSESSION OF CANNABIS

A Glenview resident was cited at 6:10 p.m. Aug. 10, for the Village Ordinance for Possession of Cannabis following an investigation in the 400 block of Elm Street.

RETAIL THEFT

  • An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported at 2:10 p.m. Aug. 11, a retail theft that occurred in the store Aug. 7. Taken during the theft were several handbags. Reported loss is $5,025.
  • An employee of a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive called police at 10:27 a.m. Aug. 13, that between Aug. 11 and Aug. 13, a group of unknown juveniles stole miscellaneous items from the store. Estimated loss is $471.

VEHICLE THEFT

A person in the 4100 block of Cove Lane called police at 6 p.m. Aug. 11, to report the theft of two motorcycles from the parking lot.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLE

A resident in the 800 block of Fairhope Avenue reported at 11:49 a.m. Aug. 12, that earlier in the day they saw a male exit a vehicle and enter their parked, unlocked, vehicle in their driveway.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO STATE SUPPORTED PROPERTY

An employee at the Glenview Park District called police at 11:47 a.m. Aug. 13, to report damage to the rubber playground flooring at Little Bear Park. Reported damage is $6,000.

THEFT

  • A Glenlake Drive resident reported at 6:47 p.m. Aug. 13, selling clothing on a web app. The buyer requested Google Play gift cards to release full payment of the clothing payment. Reported loss is $250.
  • A resident in the 3900 block of Carousel Drive called police at 2:17 p.m. Aug. 14, to report that earlier in the day someone stole headphones and an electronic music player from the patio table in their backyard. Reported loss is $325.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A resident in the 1300 block of Canterbury Lane reported at 8:37 p.m. Aug. 14, juveniles banged on their front door, rang the doorbell, and then fled the area.

BURGLARY

Police responded to a business in the 300 block of Waukegan Road at 10:25 p.m. Aug. 15, for multiple alarms. Officers found a broken window and an open overhead garage door. Several vehicles in the lot were found damaged, and two vehicles were stolen.

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

  • A resident in the 900 block of Plesant Lane reported at midnight, Aug. 16, someone entered their parked, unlocked, vehicle and stole a wallet from the center console. Reported loss is $40.
  • A Hinsdale resident called police at 12:53 p.m. Aug. 16, to report someone smashed the window of a vehicle owned by a friend, while the vehicle was parked in the parking lot in the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue, and stole cash from a bag in the rear seat. Reported loss is $2,000.
  • A Chicago resident reported that between 11 a.m. and 3:58 p.m. Aug. 16, someone smashed the rear driver’s side window on their vehicle while it was parked in the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue and stole a backpack from the back seat. Reported loss is $1,400.
  • A Homer Glen resident called police to report that between 12:30 p.m. and 5:55 p.m. Aug. 16, someone smashed the front passenger side window on their vehicle while it was parked in the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue and stole a black bag from inside. Reported loss is $650.
  • A Plainfield reported that between 12:45 p.m. and 5:55 p.m. Aug. 16, someone stole from the interior of their vehicle while it was parked, unlocked, in the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue. Reported loss is $1,200.
