Volunteer Fair 'Aims To Strengthen Community Bonds' In Glenview

The Glenview Library and Glenview Chamber of Commerce are co-hosting an event to connect residents with local volunteer opportunities.

GLENVIEW, IL — Residents will have an opportunity to explore volunteer roles at an upcoming fair. The Glenview Public Library and the Glenview Chamber of Commerce are co-hosting a Volunteer Fair on Saturday, March 7. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Glenview Public Library, located at 1930 Glenview Road, in the Community Room.

Organizers said the event "aims to strengthen community bonds and empower individuals to contribute to the community."

"The Volunteer Fair is about celebrating service and connecting people with opportunities to make a difference," said Linda Sawyer, deputy director of library services, "Volunteering strengthens our community by supporting organizations that serve our neighbors every day."

The fair is designed to connect individuals of all ages and abilities with volunteer opportunities within their community. Students, professionals, and retirees are welcome to attend. Attendees can meet with local organizations and nonprofits that offer volunteer positions in various fields.

"Glenview is a community of service," said Meghan Kearney, executive director of the Glenview Chamber of Commerce. "We have a wide variety of organizations that need volunteer support to exist so we wanted to create an impactful event to serve the community."
