Water Balloon Hits Driver; Trees Removed From Property: Blotter
A driver and his vehicle were hit by a water balloon; a resident said 4 trees were removed from his property: Glenview Police Blotter.

Sergey Rom, 51, of the 800 block of N. Wilke Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of driving under the influence of a combination of drugs, failure to reduce speed, and was arrested at 11:42 a.m. Sept. 22, following a traffic crash investigation at Milwaukee Avenue and Central Road. He was released on bond and assigned a court date of Oct. 25.

Danae Hudson, 24, of the 9600 block of Golf Road, Des Plaines, is accused of having a warrant out of McHenry County for failure to appear, and was arrested at 3:03 a.m. Sept. 23, at Shermer and Willow roads. He was taken to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Detention Center.
INCIDENTS
BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE
- A resident reported at 11:18 a.m. Sept. 22, their vehicle’s front passenger window was smashed and items stolen from inside the car as it sat parked in a parking lot in the 3800 block of Willow Road.
- Officers responded to Community Park West, 1001 Zenith Drive, at 7:20 p.m. Sept. 23, for a burglary to a motor vehicle. Officers located a vehicle with a broken window. The owners were notified and will inventory the car as soon as possible.
- A Schaumburg resident called police at 5:31 p.m. Sept. 26, to report the rear driver's side window broken on their vehicle and items stolen from inside while the vehicle was parked, unoccupied, at a Park District facility in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS
A resident called police at 8:04 a.m. Sept. 24, to report someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle during the overnight hours while the vehicle was parked in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road. Reported loss is $500.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
An employee of a business in the 900 block of River Drive reported at 11:01 a.m. Sept. 24, a disturbance with a customer.
STOLEN VEHICLE
A Grayslake resident called police at 11:01 a.m. Sept. 24, to report while he was inside a business in the 2400 block of Sanders Road an unknown person stole his vehicle and attached trailer from the parking lot. Reported loss is $32,000.
FORGERY
An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road reported at 1:38 p.m. Sept. 24, business checks forged and cashed against the business account.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO PROPERTY
A resident in the 600 block of Glenridge Drive called police at 4:53 p.m. Sept. 24, to report someone removed four trees from their property without permission.
BATTERY
A resident reported at 9:33 p.m. Sept. 24, having a water balloon thrown at their vehicle causing the balloon to break and the driver getting wet from the liquid, while driving on Glenview Road at Greenwood Road. Officers met with all involved parties.
ASSAULT
An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 2:57 a.m. Sept. 25, to report an altercation with a group of customers. While the customers were leaving, one person made a hand gesture toward the employee, making the employee feel like they were about to be battered.
POSSESSION OF CANNABIS
Two juveniles were cited at 2:41 a.m. Sept. 26, under village ordinance for curfew violation, minor in possession of alcohol, possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis, following the investigation of a suspicious vehicle in the 3800 block of Knollwood Lane. Both juveniles were released to their parents.
TRESPASSING
An employee of a business in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 7:04 p.m. Sept. 27, an unwanted customer on the business property. Officers gave the customer trespass notice to the business at the employee’s request. The customer left the property.
