Glenview 4th of July Fireworks: When and Where to Watch Them

Plus, information on the other ways the village is celebrating Independence Day in 2016.

Glenview, IL—Touting improvements from last year, Glenview will celebrate the Fourth of July with a variety of activities, including a parade and live music.

Fireworks—which a village press release said will have larger pyrotechnics and last five minutes longer than last year's show—are scheduled for 9 p.m. Monday, July 4, at Gallery Park. Residents can begin claiming spots as early as 4:30 p.m., and a DJ will continue the celebration after the display ends at around 9:45 p.m.

Fourth of July Parade

  • What: 11:15 a.m.
  • Where: From Harlem Avenue to Central Road, ending in Johns Park.
  • What Else: Children preschool age to 9 years old are invited to bring their decorated bikes and join the parade. They should gather by 10:30 a.m. at Harlem Avenue, north of Glenview Road.

Twilight Show Concert

  • When: 4:30 p.m.
  • Where: Gallery Park
  • What Else: Features and attractions this year include vendors serving pizza, burgers, hot dogs, ice cream and other food, as well as musical entertainment. A DJ will be onstage at 5 p.m., and the 100-piece Northshore Concert Band will perform at 7 p.m.
