Woman Trapped in Bathroom for Days Saved by Phone Company Worker
A man from the phone company heard the 69-year-old screaming while checking on the line at the Glenview home.

The owner of the home in the 700 block of Beaver Road became nervous when the 69-year-old woman could not be reached by phone. The homeowner called AT&T to check the line, according to NBC Chicago. When the worker arrived, he heard the woman yelling and was able to communicate with her via a mail slot in the door.
“I knock on the door and faintly I hear a yell,” Michael Rojo told NBC. “So I’m trying to open the door, nothing. Go to the side door, nothing, then I notice a mail slot. I yell who I am, she says she’s been in there for five days no food no water no medication.”
Police arrived soon after and broke a small window to enter the room and rescue the woman from the bathroom. It is believed she fell in the shower and was unable to get up.
The woman, who did not have any visible injuries, was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for an evaluation. She told police she was stuck in the bathroom for five days, but that has yet to be confirmed.
