Fidel A. Moya Santos, 25, of the 1400 block of Willow Avenue, Des Plaines, is accused of driving with no valid license, speeding 21-25 MPH above the limit, and was arrested at 1:11 p.m. Oct. 29, following a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of Dec. 9.

INCIDENTS

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

A Waukegan resident reported at 2:19 p.m. Oct. 29, having a road rage incident with another driver, a Chicago resident, while they were driving near Willow Road and Sanders Road. The drivers both said the other driver had displayed a handgun out their window as a threat. Both parties were found to be in possession of handguns and both had valid FOID cards. They each called the police for assistance.

FRAUD

A Montgomery Lane resident called police at 5:04 p.m. Oct. 29, to report hiring a company which they found through Facebook Marketplace to fix a stove pipe. They agreed on a price of $900 and the homeowner gave the person $450 to purchase materials. They have not returned to do the repair and disconnected their phone.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A resident in the 1200 block of Canterbury Lane reported at 10:39 a.m. Oct. 30, hiring a company to do painting at their residence. The homeowner saw the word, "Nazi," painted on the bedroom wall. The supervisor questioned the employees and one employee admitted to the painting. The employee was given a trespass warning not to return, no complaints to be signed.

IDENTITY THEFT

A Bennington Court resident called police at 2:59 p.m. Oct. 30, to report someone to a bank in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road and withdrew $1,000 from their checking account at the teller window, using their PIN number. The person then went to a store in Niles and received $100 cash back from a transaction after using a debit card linked to the checking account. They are still in possession of their physical debit card. The bank is investigating the transactions.

THEFT

  • A FedEx employee reported delivering a package at 5:08 p.m. Oct. 30, to a residence in the 3200 block of Coral Lane. They saw two males sitting in a silver Nissan Sentra with Illinois dealer plates that was parked on the street. One of the two ran up to the porch and stole the package, then the vehicle fled from the scene. The two were wearing all black. The package contained an iPhone 16 Pro, valued at $1,000.
  • Employees of a business in the 2000 block of Waukegan Road reported at 9:51 a.m. Nov. 4, spare tires had been stolen off two new vehicles that were parked in the front of the business. Surveillance video shows a person removing them at 4:30 a.m. and then leaving on foot. Total value is $2,600.
  • An employee of a business in the 4300 block of Di Paolo Center reported at 2:20 p.m. Nov. 4, the rear license plate had been stolen from the truck parked in the lot sometime between Nov. 2 and Nov. 4.

STOLEN VEHICLE

An employee of a business in the 2300 block of Waukegan Road reported on Oct. 31 a customer had rented a vehicle and never returned it. The vehicle, a 2023 Nissan Rogue, was scheduled to be returned on Oct. 10, but never was. The vehicle was entered into LEADS as stolen and complaints will be signed.

ANIMAL BITES

A hired worker reported at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 31, being bitten by a dog at 2300 block of Malik Court after performing work at a residence. The dog's owner admitted to the incident and apologized, saying their dog normally does not act like this. They were issued a village ordinance citation for dog, cat and animal bites.

BARKING DOG

Police responded to the 3800 block of Glenview Road at 6:38 p.m. Nov. 1, for a complaint of a barking dog. The homeowner was issued a village ordinance citation.

UNWANTED PERSON

Employees of a business in the 0 block of Waukegan Road reported at 6:01 p.m. Nov. 4, two customers were yelling at staff and causing a disruption in the store due to having issues
with their cell phone repairs. They agreed to go to a different location for future assistance.
