1 Dead, 3 Injured When Dump Truck Collides With 2 Vehicles
The collision happened in Wauconda Township Wednesday morning.
LAKE COUNTY, IL β A 59-year-old McHenry man is dead after his van collided with a dump truck Wednesday morning near Wauconda, authorities said.
The collision happened at about 8:05 a.m. when a 2018 Chevrolet Trax headed south on Wilson Road failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a Peterbilt Semi-Truck that was driving westbound on Route 60, police said. The dump truck then hit a Ram ProMaster Van.
The McHenry man driving the van was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 24-year-old Ingleside man; a passenger in the van, a 31-year-old Kenosha, Wisconsin, man; and the driver of the dump truck, a 50-year-old Berwyn man, were all taken to an area hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

An autopsy is planned for the McHenry man who was killed in the collision.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
