4 Faked Car Troubles to Lure, Rob Good Samaritan: Police
Authorities are searching for the four suspects accused of robbing the man at gunpoint along Fischer Road in Volo Thursday evening.

LAKE COUNTY, IL -- A motorist who came to the aid of four purporting to have car issues when they flagged him down along North Fisher Road in Volo was robbed at gunpoint Thursday evening, police said. Now, authorities are looking for the four offenders accused in the armed robbery. The ruse allegedly happened in the 31600 block of North Fisher Road in Volo at about 6:10 p.m.
A driver told police he was headed south on Fisher Road when he was flagged down by the group of men who were standing next to what appeared to be a broken down GMC pick-up, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
The man pulled over to see if he could help, police said. As soon as he stopped, one of the men allegedly pointed a handgun at him and ordered him to get out of his car.

The four men, one armed with the gun and one armed with a knife, then got into the man's car and stole several items, according to the news release. Afterward, they fled south from the scene.
Their GMC pickup is described as a black, newer-model truck. The suspects are described as men of Hispanic descent. They were all wearing black-hooded sweatshirts at the time of the robbery.

Authorities are searching for the suspects in this robbery and are asking anyone with information regarding the suspects to call the Lake County Sheriff's Office at 847-549-5200.
Also, in light of the incident, authorities are encouraging residents to call police to report a broken down vehicle and not to pull over to check on the motorist by yourself.
