Alleghany Road to Close at Metra Railroad Tracks

Alleghany Road will be closed from Peterson Road to Route 120 between Aug. 26 and Sept. 4.

GRAYSLAKE, IL — A portion of Alleghany Road will be closed starting next week as repairs get underway at a Metra railroad crossing. Alleghany Road will be closed from Peterson Road to Route 120 starting at 6 a.m. on Aug. 26 and continuing through the late afternoon hours of Sept. 4, according to a post on the Lake County Division of Transportation Facebook page.

A detour will run from Peterson Road to Route 83 to Route 137 to Route 120. Local traffic will be allowed from Peterson Road to the Metra railroad crossing and from Route 120 to the Metra railroad crossing.

The railroad crossing will be closed to all traffic as repairs are underway.
