The Goddard School located at 1155 South Amarias Drive in Round Lake celebrated Stepping up for the Environment week by promoting eco-friendly activities both at school and at home. Wrapping up a weeklong adventure in recycling was a fashion show created by the students. Each classroom used recycled materials to make clothing to remind them to recycle and reuse. Parents were on hand to enjoy the fashion forward kids displaying their summer collections.
"The children were very creative," said John Burnett. "They had some great ideas using magazines, newspapers, and plastic bottles to make clothing for the fashion show. You could see they all had a great time."
The Goddard School started celebrating Earth Hour 2012 as well by turning off the lights for one hour. On hand to "Flip the Switch" were Round Lake Mayor Dietz and Lake County Board member Pat Carey.
