Getaway Driver in Lake Co. Shooting Arrested
Four face charges in connection with a shooting that injured a 15-year-old boy.

ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL -- Bond has been set at $100,000 for the fourth suspect arrested in connection with a shooting that left a 15-year-old boy with a leg injury in Round Lake Beach this past week.
Evaristo Vasquez-Perez, the alleged getaway driver in the Feb. 27 shooting, has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm. Vasquez-Perez, who had been wanted for questioning by Round Lake Police, was pulled over in Gurnee on Wednesday for driving with only one headlight. He was then transferred to the Round Lake Beach Department and taken into custody.
Three others who were allegedly in the car with Vasquez-Perez at the time of the shooting have already been charged. Police said two of the men got into an argument before several shots were fired from a car in the 400 block of Meadow Green Lane at 9:41 p.m. on Feb. 27, according to a Round Lake Police Department press release.

One of the bullets struck a 15-year-old boy. That boy, police said, was not involved in the argument and was taken to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his leg and later released.
Jose J. Herrera Jr., 19, of the 200 block of Geneva Terrace in Round Lake Beach, is accused of firing the shots and has been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm. His bail was set at $200,000.

Adrian Robledo Garcia, 19, also of the 200 block of Geneva Terrace, and Juan A. Nunez, 18, of the 600 block of Turnbull Drive in Round Lake Beach, have also been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm in connection with the shooting. Bail has been set at $100,000 for both.
